Man what a weekend. Thanks to Nic and Chris for putting on a great event.

First track adventure.

First time with live passing.

First time for everything.

I first want to thank Tom and Sean for working with me on line, driving, ect. Tom took me for a hot ride and showed me the way around the track. Sean talked with me alot on where I was running and what was going on and where to run the line.

Brian cooked for us and worked on cars when needed, which was not much thankfully.

Hal was there for support and a calm voice as always with me.

John and Joe it was good meeting you guys. Good to see you made it home ok John.

Only problem I had was I cooked a set of tires. Corded 3 or the 4. Oh well I got a season plus autocrossing out of them.

Thanks again to everyone involved. I had a great time.

Had a great time even though I was somewhat "preoccupied" with something else for much of the weekend. As a result I didn't get too many pictures this time. Will post some when I get time.

It was good to see everyone again and I am very happy with how Dave did for his first time on track. Also glad to see that the "problem solving" skills we learned while helping Gary have not diminished.

WOOT !

WE SURVIVED !!!

J/K

It was an awesome weekend and I really was stoked to meet some of the Focaljet Gang.

This weekend was a first for me as well. I've never been at an event that allowed open passing for street cars. That first session was a bit of nail biter, but got into the groove very quickly.

It was a bit humbling too. We have some REALLY fast foci drivers in our community. Not only fast, but very talented.

John - Glad you were able to get home safe and I am very disappointed that you couldn't continue.

As for the index, it is an 8. So, it is what it is.

I have a lot of footage, but I do need to make an apology for a MAJOR OOOOOPS !!!

During Dave's first Time Attack run, I was able to get some really great footage coming up the straight, through the carousel and the top portion of the cork screw. My camera skills aren't that great, but there was a lot of footage that would make Dave proud.

Unfortunately, in my effort to make the video available, I rewound it and switched tapes for the afternoon session. Or so I thought....

I recorded over ALL of Dave's runs. :bang:

I still have his afternoon run on tape, but lost the rest.

I'll be editing the remaining footage tonight and will have it posted in the next couple of days.

My apologies.

Still it was a good time and I will post up future open events at Summit and VIR where foci are welcome.

The best of the weekend for me was the Porsche GT2 that gave me the nastiest point by of the weekend.

He threw his hand out the window as if to say "Just go away."

I worked on him for about 3 laps. He would pull me by 10 or 15 cars in the straights and in the next section of turns there I was again in his mirror. He finally pointed me by but was not happy about doing it.

^NICE

Fave moments for me:
- watching a Z06 in my rear view for an entire session, as he was completely unable to overtake Jon & Me
- watching knucklehead tuner cars blow up, go slow, or go off
- meeting new folks
- watching as Jon's car came back to life after some ace trackside wrenching.

x2...

I was 200 feet behind an EVO when he "grenaded" the motor on the bridge straight...

While not advisable, there is a certain magic about hearing 23+ LBS pounds of boost force itself through a cylinder wall....

UDP seems like a waste of money to me. I do need to get another altenator though. The computer doesn't like the one that's in there right now.

And the exhaust header is cracked.

They also put a die pack in so hopefully I'll track down the oil leak. It appears to be coming from the lower block joint or whatever that's called.

But it was still a ton of fun and I did get 3 sessions in.

Was that the blue Z06??

I was sandwiched between him and the Porsche on the same run and out ran the Vette and kept up with and eventually passed the Porsche.

It was a great feeling.

Thanks.

I was getting the hang of it on Sunday until I blistered 3 tires and did not know it.

I noticed it felt funny but thought it was just getting worn out and tired. Then Tom was helping me change tires after the last TT he was real upset about both of us missing it before I went out.

They are really bad.

So fun to see on track goodness from coast to coast! I'm going to make it to an East-coast FC one of these days...just make it my vacation of the year or something.

Anyway, keep it up fellas!

Well Hey all!

It was AWESOME to meet those of you who hung out and made it through Sunday!

Thanks to Tom for my first Road Race ride! had fun!!!

Wish i could have made it for Saturday, i would have helped you party poops stay up!!!

Anywho, i finally got my pw back so i'll be posting loads more and hope to see more ppl. at some nat'l events and of course the east coast teams!!!

Speed safely and major big hugs to everyone that i met Sunday!!!

.
UDP spin the Alternator and PS pump slower. so the chance of failure would be a lot lower. the power gain in lower RPM is not bad either.

Sorry you have to replace that alternator, maybe you’ll be able to take it back to AutoZone and get your money back

Not suprised, don't know what car it is actually for. It had the right shape and mounting points but we had to change the pulley and the main connection.

Just take it back to Autozone and get the correct one.

Hey Shelly - great to meet you, too. Had to split quickly to catch up with my folks, so didn't get a chance to say bye.

Let's get you on track...

Hey Sean, that's ok, i totally understand, of course i couldn't fly in on FRIDAY because i had to WOOoork. but meh, any-ol-way...had fun meeting new peeps and watching the foci zoom around that track. Camping there was nice i was dead to the world when i hit the mattress.

I'm getting egged on by a few other fj ppl to get into road racing too...it will happen, just not yet, the $$$ isn't avail. till prob next year. i need to get a back up car for commuting, since my 2.3 is my every day driver right now. (btw, i need to correct my screen name...no longer have the 2k2 - she is a 2k3 now *grin*).

All in all, it was a great time, and wish i'd have gotten to road races before (see dad has a 600+hp 1972 Camaro that he drags, so i've grown up 1/4 mile at a time...till now). Auto-x and road racing will be my next progression.

I'll hit up more events time allowing - I know that Wizardracing (aka buddy) is trying to set up a nat'l event at summit for next year! fingers crossed for me to be able to get down there.

adios amigos till l8r! Speed safely, and legally!
