Well I know that the dpfe sensors in the focus are crap, But mine seems to be going out now about every 3 months:bang: . Thank god for life time replacements at the zone. I get more frustrated every time I have to change one, Glad that they are easy to do.

The reason they fail is the hot exhasut gas that it has to deal with. If you do the focushacks workaround it will most likeley never go out again, but then you EGR system will not work either. Also no CEL. I just got tired of replacing them all the time and decided to try it and TAHDAH it works without a problem.

And a header to boot. It certainly could not hurt anything, except emissions standards, ahhh who am I look at my sig!
I've only had mine go once in 3 years...I have a flex-back on there and an intake. Easy fix and not too expensive from Steve...but every three months is ridiculous. I'd say just disable it, but there has got to be some underlying problem there. Perhaps running lean, too high EGT's, clogged cat, timing off?G-forces said:

^Right... if there's no underlying cause, then its time for the aforementioned "work-around" or to "tune" it off.
I ran my original sensor upto just a couple of months ago. 91k miles on motor #2. The last 30k miles were w/out a cat.

ford redesigned the sensor a few times too, the problems is the moisture (H2O) produced by combustion it gets in the sensor and kills it.
