I have my airbag light and my seat belt light on. Does anybody know how to properly splice/ground the sensor? Its for a 2002 SVTF. :(

I have the same problem. I have Sparco seats in my focus and the light is on. I asked about that before and I do not want to risk screwing up the harness for the seats.

My friend told me that he can ground the sensors, I'm not quite sure how he gona do that yet but I'll let you know if ever we succeed.

take the sensor off the stock seat and bolt it up and plug it in. problem fixed.

There may be a couple of things at play. First is the seat-belt connection switch. Then there may be a seat position sensor. And IIRC, all SVTs had side-impact airbags, which will be the hardest thing to fool.

There is a simulator that Ford sells to get rid off all of those warning lights when the seat is removed for service. I have seen them on eBay before. I will do some scrounging. I would put a call in to Steve and see what he says. Nate

I do not know the specifics but you can find out what the ohm rating needed to shut off the light then just put a resistor in it to match and the light will go out.

I am not an electircian by any means but this is what one of my techs told me needs to be done to make the light go out back when I was investigating racing seats.

I am in the middle of this right now. The simulators were on sale from OTC/Rotunda at $66 for a pair, Steve had them for $60......but I think the clearance sale went off yesterday. I don't know if Steve can still get them for $60.

That said, I'm cheap so I read my manual and it says 2.5 ohms. I made a 2.5 ohm jumper for the airbag harnesses under the seat. Problem is, there is also the pretensioner circuit which also throws the airbag light. And maybe the buckle sensor, because it goes to the airbag module as well. Even after the jumpers for the airbag circuits, I'm still getting 5 flashes and 4 flashes, meaning I've got an issue with the driver's side airbag circuit and obviously both of the pretensioners. Off to Radio Shack tomorrow for more resistors........

I haven't found any mention of the resistance for the pretensioner circuit, but the trouble shooting guide in the shop manual says "Is it less than 5 ohms?" just like the airbag circuit so I may make a couple more 2.5 ohm jumpers.

Well I've wasted a day and fried some resistors. My factory service manual and factory wiring manual have different connectors and different wire colors than what is in my car. I plugged my passenger seat in and tried to deal with just the driver seat. Fried my jumper when I plugged into the power seat circuit (oops). Then I made another jumper and using two, 2.5 ohm jumpers I tried the only other used harness position and still got the same airbag light flashed codes. Ugh.

I give up. Has anyone tried the expensive factory simulator? The harness plug on it looks wrong - just like the factory manual............ I don't want to waste $66 or more for a stupid light.

The seatbelt light was a procedure in the manual, it stays on for a short period and goes out until the next time the car is started. I need to get with Steve for the dummy plugs for the bag system. Pretty sure they take care of the light but can't speak from experience on that one yet.

The dummy plug isn't enough. I found someone on FF who tried it and it didn't turn out the light - you also have to trick the tensioner circuit and the seat belt buckled circuit.

Huge pain..............

Remove the bulb from the instrument cluster?
I believe most are a soldered LED. What you can do is pull the cluster separate the cluster from the plastic viewing window/cover with a small screwdriver under the clips. Put a piece of electrical tape on the back side of the plastic film. Snap it all back together and no more visibly annoying airbag light

You think the airbag light is 'that' irritating? The seatbelt light I understand (and is easily fixed) but the airbag one doesn't really bother me.
