Are you referring to the light in the instrument cluster that lights up at random times while driving? I imagine there's a pin for it on the cluster, but in all honesty, that light is almost completely worthless. I've seen it try to get you to shift to 5th at 20 MPH....

If you're looking for an actual shift light to indicate redline/shift point/etc, aftermarket's probably the way to go.

The car is an 02 Zx3. I know most people dont think very highly of the factory shift light. However I may have lucked out with one that somewhat works. It bearly tells me to go to 5th at 35. And seems to help match rpm's during shifts.

Would I need any sort of special circutry (resistors or w/e) or just wire it up with a fuse??
The "pin" would be located on the back of the cluster, rite??

it tells u to shift for best economy. altho u can change it to display at say 7k rpms or so with a tune, ud probably b better off using aftermarket. but if you insist, u can just tap into the power just before the light, and power an LED with it. then they'll just light up together

If anybody could tell me what wire it is under the dash at the clutch pedal I'd love to cut it so I don't have to see it.

I pulled the bulb out of mine because it annoyed me severly. I don't need to be told when to shift. If anything, you can get complacent with lights going off on your dash all the time, that you may just accidentally ignore the CEL when it goes off. I know most of us would notice that one, but I am trying to make a point. If you don't know how to drive standard properly, buy an automatic. That light is intended for fuel economy, and yes, it does a poor job even at that. The only people who need a shift-light are drag-racers with manual trannys, and if you are a dragger, you definitely don't want what Ford is cooking with that joke of a shift-light. Pull the bulb and get an aftermarket tach with a shift-light in it... one that you can set to your preference!
