Yeah and look what happened to the Focus, the more it got tampered with the sales tanked.
But yet the 08-current Focus has had some of the best sales numbers of any Focus

The Astra is far from untouched and again, read my post above, you prove exactly what I was saying....
So what did they change on the Astra from Europe till it became a Saturn?

Lots of talk here.

I've seen the North American Fiesta in person since we will be making parts for them. I think you guys are going to like it. And I'm driving around in a European Fiesta so I was able to compare them easily.

Granted, I saw the hatchback, so unless Ford has decided to make drastic changes with their approach to design for the sedan, I'd say we're good.

.... they switched badges....
OK, fine, they technically had to touch it to do that, my bad. You want euro though, take a look at it. Its hardcore euro, right down to the lack of an acceptable cupholder, crazy markings on the radio buttons, and military time format on the clock, and the small engine. They touched very very little.

I am not ruling out the car until it is finally released, but I am very skeptical over the bumper shown on the test mules. Perhaps those are just for the test mules, but I think it is worth talking about. We know from 08 focus that being vocal can change the final design, hence the lack of the square fog lamps and eventually the chrome side vents going away.

Randy, do you know (or can you say) if the bumper on the sedan and hatch will be the same design? The test mules seem to show that.

Another thought is that the regular bumper will have a very small opening in the lower grille, and a "sport" or "performance" model may have a larger front grille closer to the Verve Sedan concept. If you look at the Mondeo, it has similar upper grille as the Verve Sedan, but the same lower grille as the Fiesta. Both elements can be used on the production Fiesta, just as they did with the Verve Sedan. I have seen the sedan in the flesh, and it is a good looking sedan. I want a hatchback, but the sedan is very good looking. The front bumper was not the US one, so I am only guessing on the design based on spy pics.

Lack of keyless starting has been said in Car and Driver, which may not be based on facts. Agent Mark Kleis has talked about the seats getting wider, which is too bad for me since I am very small. I can live with bigger seats, that doesn't bother me. Turn signals in the mirrors are great, but not a deal breaker. The dash and the front bumper are two areas that are my favorite elements of the Fiesta, and neither of them I want to see change.

Those are misleading. Just a tad.
Randy, that could be the best news I have heard all night!

I am going to hooked on Zanax by the time this car comes out. :)

Are you planning on having a Fiesta at SEMA? I tried to get the Fiesta Movement to get me to the show, but it did not work out.

But the vast majority of the people on here want a 300HP AWD Focus for 15K

I think Ford has a better idea of the general market then the tirekickers that come here...the 08 Focus is prime example of this.

Thats part of the reason I don't post that much in Pit Stop anymore...all it seems like is that people wine and bitch when something comes out that doesn't suit their individual wants.

The other thing is that it seems like anything from the US=Fail and anything from Europe=the second coming of god...yet when products come here they fall on their face like the Astra. Hell even Toyota and Honda don't sell the same products they have in Europe in the States for the most part (TSX is only car that doesn't fall into that I can think of, but its not that big of a seller in the states anyways)
BTW, you never get to complain about missing features on your iPhone ever again. This is basically the exact same argument you seem to battle on one side but decide to give a pass when it comes to this debate.

But they get MMS, and tethering, and blah blah...... oh well suck it up... what do you want..... whiner... :p
