Just had my windows re-done...a place called Jim's Solarguard did them. He did a great job and they are running a special for a couple of months. $80 to legal tint the whole car.

They have 2 Durham locations, one in Raleigh, & Raeford NC.

Mine did cost a $100 cause i had 20% put on the rear window & legal on the sides.

What kind of tint did he use?

I'm guessing its solarguard tint, since its in the name of the shop. I am still trying to figure out how to get my car inspected and passed in this state. :/

The box i seen him open had 3M on the side....He has a couple different kinds.

the website has nothing about the special, but he has signs at the store.

How do you inspect and pass car's that are registered in different counties??

I live in Person County and a friend of mine in Raleigh needed to get his Honda inspected since it has a motor swap, they told him the car had to be registered in the county or city it was to be inspected in. He was gonna put it in my name to have my address to inspect it, but he finally found someone who did it for $100 under the table...

He was misinformed, and got taken for 100 bucks. Most places charge a lil extra if you have tint (10 bucks in our case). It is to pay for the tint meter, to make sure your tint is legal....the option of using the meter over calibrated eyeballs is up to the shops discretion and usually depends on asking nicely and not being a douche.
