I think you'd have a very difficult time fitting the MTX75 into a Fiesta. You would need to do a lot of cutting and then get custom axles made to fit. The IB5+ is a direct decendent of the original Fiesta 'box (BC) so it fits in the car very well. The stock axles will fit right into the IB5+ so no custom work need. The only downside is you have to trim the LH chassis rail due to the added length of the 5 speed, this is very common in europe when fitting any 5 speed. The box can be converted to a 4 speed if absolutely neeeded for rules and such. The ST150 version of the IB5 is stronger than other versions like the infamous SOHC Focus box, it has stronger components to handle the extra power. Quaife and SAdev make straight cut gearsets if you need more strength. Quaife even has a sequential kit in development. The Fiesta Sporting trophy uses these boxes in a spec rally series in europe. I have imported 2 of these boxes, they are not as expensive as you would think. The closest place to get them in the US is from Mexico, if your in Socal it could be as easy as crossing the border and picking one up. I'm in MN so it was just as easy to get them from England as Mexico, they both speak a foreign lauguage to me!!

Rob does this mean you do not need the flares I looked at getting from Köln?

Re: My 1980 Ford Fiesta MK1 Build Thread..***Update 8/1 Post 77

Karl how can I get in touch with so we can talk a little about this....

There is a lot of stuff that I can make but it seems that you did a lot of the work already...I can source a lot of fiesta parts from my contacts in Mexico so that will be easy. I also have other Duratec goodies that this car will have so we don't have clearance issues. If you can PM or email me your contact number that would be great...thanks

Looking good.

What MS6 was ricardo doing, was it the rebuild engine one. HE had my bros for a while.

THose wheel si think would look killer on it, and the old school fender flares. (reminds me of Bre flares). Cant wait ot roll over to Ricardos house and see it. if it is there when i go over.

Re: My 1980 Ford Fiesta MK1 Build Thread..***Update 8/1 Post 77

So glad I found this thread. My dad has a 78 Fiesta and we are talking about a Zetec or Duratec swap, even an SHO V6 swap. Reading, an IB5 is the only 5 speed that works easily with a Duratec Swap or any swap for that matter? The Kent is finally on its way out so were looking for option, opinions and what not. Fabrication is not an issue for us but would like to minimize if we can. We basically plan to run a stock NA Duratec or Zetec, and maybe upgrade some goodies, but not much.

From my research of engine trans combos:

Zetec* & SPI Focus IB5(?)
Zetec* & stock BC 4 speed
Duratec and Imported IB5+

*MTX sourced Zetec oil pan will not fit BC or IB5?

Can anyone confirm or add too?
