Like any enthusiast is going to keep an EcoBoost stock. The first to shell out tunes will solve any problems...cough FSWerks...:evilgrin:Hope so. But if the EcoBoost isn't hitting at least 230hp, I am not interested. I know the point of the Ecoboost engines is to maximize fuel economy, but to pay a premium for it and it only gets slightly better performance than the unboosted version, then I will not pay my money for it.
One of the reasons that the first-gen Focus encountered so many quality problems was untested production processes. Focuses built in Europe and North America were produced on completely different machinery with completely different processes, and Euro models never had the issues that occurred here. Going forward, the One Forward policy applies across the board including design and manufacturing. Focuses built in France, Spain, China and Michigan will all use the same equipment, work instructions and production steps.
Why not? 230 would be a step down from the current ST that makes 260, less than 230 would be pretty sad from a turbo DI TiVCT this that engine. You definetely wont see 230hp coming out of the new Focus with ecoboost, stock anyway.
Awww....come on the front fascia and the fogs, also the dent on the doors.. and the hood....no....one looks good one doesnt

you gotta remember this car was designed to replace the C1 focus not the US focus.3" wider, 3" longer, 1 1/2 " more wheel base.... no way that's going to be "close" to a 2010.
It took two years for the MK1 SVT to come out, everybody relax and start saving your money.Just as with the Fiesta, don't think for a moment that Ford won't build on the positive momentum these cars are generating by not offering "enhanced" versions.
Don't expect to see anything the first year or two, these cars are going to sell very well as is. But if I were a bettin' man…
the front bumper is awfulAwww....come on the front fascia and the fogs, also the dent on the doors.. and the hood....
I wishing people!
Please someone tell me they look a little a like?!:dunno:
lolwe will have to weight and see.
Exactly. I should have clarified my comments about the size. I was basing vs. the Euro MKII version, not the USDM.you gotta remember this car was designed to replace the C1 focus not the US focus.
its dimensions are ~ the same as the current European focus. the Euro Focus weighs~ 2700lbs+ ( the US 09 weighs ~2600.) I know ford is trying hard to keep weight down, we will have to weight and see.
I'm with you jorge. I dont think Graphics likes the hatch...Awww....come on the front fascia and the fogs, also the dent on the doors.. and the hood....

True..It took two years for the MK1 SVT to come out, everybody relax and start saving your money.arty:
I personally think its one of the best looking attributes of the new Focus..the front bumper is awful![]()
You have a really valid point Ron.Whereas the new Fiesta shares 60% of its parts with the Euro model, the Focus will share 80%.
There are certain mandated items that will simply be different on both cars, there is no way around that.
But, one thing that WILL be the same are the front and rear fascias. No more Euro-swaps needed.
x2:lol:Crap, thanks Ron...I'm going to be up all night!
