To me, it sounds like the Alt is getting ready to dump, or trying to..

While driving the SVTF, I came to a stop light, pushed in the clutch to coast while braking and I heard a RAPID "CLICKING" sound, followed by the dash lights coming on and the car about dying. RPM'ed kicked up and it didn't stall, dash lights went out and it was back to normal..

It did this TWICE in a 30 second time-frame, but hadn't done it prior, or since (I turned around, took it home and grabbed the SI to drive to work..)

I had it out previously to put the ODP on and it Involved dropping the motor mount, prying the engine forward, etc.. Total PITA..

Any other suggestions/ideas?

Which dash lights came on? It sounds like it could be a number of things but not the alternator.

Well. Its electrical related, probably the Alt... However, the car has a history of this connector going belly up.

I'll try the 23 dollar part in hopes I won't need a 200 dollar part.. and it corrects a known issue part before it fails on the cheap..

Had almost the exact same thing
check out my thread
check out link for voltage test
Bottom line replaced postive battery terminal NOT alternator
In fact all but one time when it wouldn't start it was a not-so-tight battery connection

I will typically advise you to properly diagnose the problem first before spending on parts you can't return. That's the best advise I could give you.
THIS! dont waste money throwing parts at it. All you need is a cheep multi meter and do some tests. Anyone can keep throwing part after part after part on a car, but unless you do diagnosis on the problem you may not find it. and dont assume someone elses problems are the same ones ur having. Lol this was our first lesson in Electrical.

This is NOT a No-Start issue..

This is a "The Car is running, I push the Clutch it and coast to a light, the RPM's drop, almost Stall and the Loud Rapid Clicking noise is heard with Full Dash Lights on before RPM's kick up and car runs fine" problem. In which the Battery wouldn't be the case, as the Alt is taking the load for system drain..

Terminals are Tight and Corrosion free.. I'll let you all know what happens when I replace the pigtail..

^^stand corrected
Thought maybe there was some useful info in other thread
good luck hope you get to the answer quickly

It is more than likley your alternator, I have the same problem with my svtf and my buddy was driving his zx3 to colorado and about 400 miles from home the same thing happend dash lights shut offf. makes a zinging noise lights flicker car stalls rpms rev up, all of that happend to my car I havent gotten it fixed as its sitting in my back yard but the same exact thing happend to my buddies car. You might want to do some voltage tests first but I had the same problems to let you know.

I'm pushing 14.2v at idle to the batt.. But I'm still lookin'.. I chickened out on the pigtail installation because I didn't have to time to devote to it should I screw it up this past weekend ;c)
