I currently have the Energy Suspension endlinks installed with my SVT rear sway bar. After I installed the sway bar I noticed that the suspension became stiffer (which is not bad in my book, but my wife has started complaining about it). Would it make the suspension less stiff if I swap the endlinks for SVT ones?

I'm not sure if the SVT ones are rubber or urethane. Rubber ones would be softer, but if you are softening up the bar, honestly what's the point of having it?

SVT stockers are rubber. There really shouldn't be much of a difference in ride feel. It does tighten up the rear a bit in corners, but for her to notice a change in ride - that doesn't make sense :dunno:

It certainly shouldn't affect Ride Quality. She may notice that if she hits a bump or hole with one side of the car, both feel it more now, but it'd be subtle at best.
Stick with what you have. ALL of the old SVT Literature said that it came OEM with Poly-U endlinks. The sway bushings are probably rubber, but IIRC the endlinks were not.
:)

Damn, if those factory endlinks were poly, then they were a real low shore hardness. I know the bar bushings were definitely rubber, though.

I've not seen them in person, but I remember reading that. My S2 had the same bars as the SVT, so my first suspension mod was the Prothane endlinks.

Thanks all for your informative and humorous comments. What do you all think would cause the suspension to feel stiffer. The suspension mods that I have completed are:

Eibach pro kit springs
SVT rear sway bar w/energy endlinks

Thanks again for your thoughts.

The springs and the 18" rims & tires. Riding on rubber bands definitely doesn't help ride quality.

Bad shocks & struts will cause the ride to be bouncy. Are you running stock shocks/struts with those Eibach springs?

Yes. However I am not feeling it to be bouncy but kidney jarring. I didn't have this issue until sometime after I installed the rear sway bar. That might just be coincidence. I have been running the spring and shock/strut combo for about 15 months and the car is at about 89000 miles.

So, the Pro-Kits have been on for over a year and the struts/shocks have 89k on them? If so, those shocks were toast probably before the springs went on. If you get a decent set of shocks, your issues will probably go away. Don't half-ass it, either - if ride is a concern, get some KYB AGX and set them to full soft when the wifey drives it.

Tell her you swapped the softer ones on and that its all in her head when theirs no difference
I second that!!! I think its all in her head to begin with! There is no reason this would change ride quality. Unless you did other suspension work, she probably, knowing that you did a suspension upgrade, just THINKS it has a harsher ride.

OR, follow liquid's advice!! No, not really but i found it funny

I will look into new shocks/struts.
NOT just ANY Struts and Shocks...
First off, they need to be MADE for the lower ride height of the springs.
The KYB AGX's mentioned above would be ideal.
