The STI Special Edition has been hitting dealers over the past few weeks, it's a super limited run of white ones and then a few other colors are being released, also in a limited run.

It should sticker at around $34k BUT for some silly, silly reason, the lease is ridiculously good on this thing. I forget offhand since I'm not at work anymore but with like $1700 out of pocket your payment is only like $350 plus tax and tags on a 42 month, 10k mi/year lease. To put it in perspective, a normal STI is WAYYYY more on the monthly payment, and this STI is actually CHEAPER than a lease on a normal garden variety WRX!

I don't get why the lease is so cheap, but if you want an STI without the huge payment, and the worry free idea of tossing the keys back to the dealer after 42 months, this here is your way to go lol

That is a sexy car, but I prefer buying not leasing.

lets see how many of these my dealership gets.
We are getting just one. Some dealers, none.

As far as buying versus leasing, there are pro's and con's to both, but this is especially sweet because it's a cheap payment for people who normally couldn't afford an STI. And you have fun with it for a few years, then walk away from it before the mileage starts getting up there.

When you're young as in teens to late twenties buying is cheaper in the long run over leasing a car.

and honestly the limited edition one is more for me, more of a performer rather than a fully load one.

better suspension and lighter, thats all me but maybe this winter if i can conserve spending on the svt/rs i could get one.
if i would have sold my svt i could probably get one with a medium monthly payment that i wouldnt mind having.

Yeah they kinda brought the STI back to what it used to be. When they tried to appeal to older dudes they made it too soft, that's why this SE version is so hot. I am sad that I currently have a car payment otherwise I would have flogged one of these bitches for a few years on that lease

most leases that I've looked into give you a lot more miles per year; that's probably where they get you.

If business picked up a bit, I'd seriously consider it for a company vehicle.

Starting leases are always about 10k, then you can bump them to 12, 15, 18k miles for more money. When you see a commercial on TV, it's almost always for a 10k mile a year lease

I can't think of one situation where a (f)lease is better than buying a car.
You're paying for the depreciation of the car and the dealership is retaining ownership, plus you only get to put 10k miles on it per year? ROFL

Only $350 per month? How short sighted. You're paying $16400 (that's with the $1700 added) to rent the vehicle for 42 months.

You can't afford it. Might as well light that money on fire.

Cool car nonetheless. I just hope people see the real side to leasing.

=)

Do you know how many people I talk to every week that are 2 or 3 years into a 5 year loan and want a new car? THOSE people should lease, instead of rolling over inequity or paying the higher monthly payment when they would have kept the car no longer than a lease anyway.

Do you know how many people I talk to that run out to buy a car as soon as their loan is paid off on their current car? THOSE people should lease, because if they're going to perpetually be in a car payment they may as well be in a cheaper payment and be under warranty constantly.

The dealership doesn't retain ownership of the car, either. The cars are owned by the financing arm of the manufacturer, in most cases. The only way the dealership gets the car is if they buy it when it's grounded at the end of the lease.

And 10,000 miles per year is perfectly fine for a lot of people. The vast majority of my customers do 10,000 mile a year leases, just because you drive more doesn't mean everyone else does. And if 10k miles isn't enough, that's why you pay a few extra bucks a month for 12, 15, or 18k miles. I paid a whole $12 a month extra for a 15,000 mi/year lease.

So yeah, those are a few situations where leasing is better than buying. The only way I'd buy a brand new car is if I definitely knew I was keeping it for like 10 years. Or if I wanted to mod the crap out of it.
