Yeah if they are 700$ I dunno if I'm gonna do it. If the shop can get them cheaper them I will. Also yes they are checking clearences but not sure if that includes the price of buckets. But if I can keep it around 1000$-1200 with valves I'm all in.

well... with the built bottom end... you could turn up the boost I suppose...

How do you know its a ring problem? Have you done a leakdown test? Checked compression? How many miles? Could be something as simple as a plugged pcv system or oil seperator considering your boosted... and if it where a ring issue... the block would be seeing quite a bit of pressure... ushually the first thing you'll notice is the dipstick being pushed out of the tube... esp. under boost.

Anyways... svt ring sets are interesting... if you buy them from ford... they will be missing an oil support rail for each piston so you'll have to find them else where (i have an extra set...)

hone the cylinders... new bearings... new rings... gasket set, oil pump, etc... do the work yourself and you'll come out cheaper imo...

what does the oil seperator ring look like?

The oil scraper/seperator ring is the 3rd ring down... its a 3 piece design... an upper thin support rail, an almost honey comb looking middile piece, and a lower thin support rail... the honeycomb piece goes in first then the lower and upper support rails...

When I ordered my ring pack from Steve, he told me about the issue before they ever shipped them out... each of the four sets came with both compression rings... 1 support rail and 2 of the honeycomb pieces instead of 2 support rails and 1 honecomb piece...

They may have corrected this probelm by now, but I'd check to make sure.
