I have inpro head lights...i'm trying to wiring them up. ok first of all non of these write ups that I have read are working for me.
first off...my headlight harness I cut it off the three wires I have are black, green/black, and green/orange...
I have the vw harness with wires coming out of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8....
I have tried wiring everything up every kind of way and nothing working for the headlights...I have gotten the turn signal to work as just a turn signal and only come on when turning...but can't get the low beams or high beams to work. the only thing is I don't have the city light bulb in the headlight. I don't know if that has any effect with the low beams not working.
Also I noticed that the ground that goes in 8...well the inpro headlights have metal prongs that the vw harnesses connect into...well on the vw harness number 8 doesn't go into any metal prong on the actual headlights (i'll put up pictures in a few to explain this.)
so I tried wiring the ground from the turn signal over to the ground on the headlight and then wiring that to number 6 in the vw harness (ground) and nothing. I changed the fuses to 15 amps and still nothing.
I am losing my mind and can't figure out why I can't get this thing to work. Please helppppp.
like it just doesn't make sense to me...there are only three wires from the headlight harness...a ground a low beam and high beam...so it should be simple....
also in the wiring diagram

at the very bottom
Just connect pins 1,2 and 8 on the VW to the Ford headlamp connector. That way, your headlamps are used for High and Low beams, and your grille's are used for your turn signals. If you connect pins 1,2 and 6, your headlamps will not turn on.
is this why my headlights won't work because this is what is wired up which is what is suppose to be wired up according to the diagram but then at the bottom says if this wired up like this your head lamps won't turn on...so thats what I'm thinking is my problem...but how do I solve this. please helppp
