They are French after all.

Wow very nice. Looks like it is from 2050

If Peugeot is all you have to worry about, then all you have to do is make it to 24 hours without 'expiring'...lol
Looks like Audi is using the soon-to-be-banned-in-F1 f-duct on this...should be FAST on those huge LeMans straights!

I don't see any "plumbing" in that vertical wing like the f-duct cars in Formula 1 had. It seems too narrow.

Shows what I'm trying to say more clearly...

I do think it's cool to see F1 influences in racing... but I'm not sure if the f-duct is there or not.

Nice research...I see your point. Maybe to enhance directional stability?

The shark fins were mandated this year I think. Perhaps to help keep the cars on the ground if sliding sideways.
I think they just attached it in the middle to support the wing. If you look at Pugeot's version the fin stops before the wing but they have other supports coming up to hold the center of the wing.

i know Peugeot's car is not finished but i looked it up and their shark fin just looks messy and a last min fix, while audi has it designed into the car

And Daytona, and probably every other race they enter with it.
If they entered Daytona and DID NOT win, I would poop a golden egg. ;) Especially since their competition would be Daytona Prototypes and GT cars, not the Peugot's, Aston Martin's, etc...;)

Sebring and Petit Le Mans yes, Daytona no.

Sad to see Audi go with a closed ****pit but given Peugeot's success, this move is unsurprising. The technical battle in racecar design between these two manufacturers for years to come will be epic.

That thing is wicked looking. Like it wants to rip your balls off, chew them up, spit them out, then go straight for your throat.

I can't wait to hear it.

I have never liked open ****pit prototype racers. Ever since they went to that formula in the mid-90's, I have disliked them. Sure they are cool in their own respect, and I admire the engineering involved, but the closed ****pit cars are just awesome to me.

That's why I don't put out on the first night. The last time that happened... :p

When will this be on the track BTW?

2011 LeMans season my guess, no team premiers their race car 2+ seasons ahead of schedule due to possible reg changes and necessity to keep secrets from competitors.

All of the Lemans series in europe and petit lemans at Road Atlanta. i like the new engine with the turbo inside the V.
