So obviously the previous owner must have had an issue where they had to replace the driver's side rear LCA... but it was replaced with a non SVT LCA without the reinforcement, they didn't even bother adding a bump stop. I currently have the front and rear Eibach bars.

What are the chances of my splitting that control arm in half with a 28mm Steeda rear sway bar?

What springs do you have?

And FWIW, I would reinforce both LCA's to be sure. That's a MASSIVE rear bar. Out of curiosity, what has made you decide to step up from the 25mm to 28.6mm (~75% increase in stiffness).

A fresh control arm is pretty affordable from Tousley.

I bought a pair of the '08 arms (different part number, but same part as the SVT, oddly...) for my car just as a preventative measure after all these years of abuse.

Personally, I think that if you have a setup that requires a rear bar that big, it is a band-aid for other issues with the suspension, or driving technique may need some tweaking.

Why do I want the 28mm rear bar? No real reason really. Just for the fun of it.

I currently have Eibach 22mm front and 25mm rear bars. I have Focus Central coilovers on Koni yellow dampers (175lb front and 220lb rear).
