This is a car I'm really looking forward to as a possible replacement to my wife's Fusion.

There is a bit of additional cladding on the car so it should shape up better. Since the cladding makes it look like th current Mondeo, this means the car is smaller and would fit exactly in the line for a US Fusion replacement. If I had to guess it would look alot like the C-Max.

From Auto Blog:

So am I the only one that can see the US spec parts on this car? From what I have heard the new Mondeo will take over the current Ford Fusion spot in the US.
I've heard the same thing for a very long time. It does seem to be a solid plan. If Ford were to offer a performance version of what ever they call it, it could be the poor man's answer to performance Audi's

It has a ST version on paper but nothing PLANNED. :-( It would definately smoke the Tarus SHO if it happens. That motor plan may only make it in the new Tarus SHO though. That is all I know on that subject. My German is getting rusty now that I don't use it as much so the articles I find are harder to understand.

Smoke the SHO? Isn't it getting 400 HP next year?

To me, that rear bumper doesn't look like its US legal, and the car doesn't look as striking as the old one did to me.

Also, the side profile looks an awful lot like the current Mazda 6.

Poor mans Audi?

I doubt the Fusion/Mondeo ST will start under $35,000 and the AWD variant would probably be a stones throw away from $40k. Price wise it will be slap fighting with Audi's base models.

Why? There are other indicators for US specs besides the bumper.

Be careful what you change in reference to the Fusion Ford!

It looks like Ford is trying to create a really cohesive design structure with their small cars right now. Sheesh. The Fiesta/Focus/Fusion-or-Mondeo are going to be soooo similar.

As well as the C-Max and S-Max. The Transit COnnect and Transit as well. Probably the e-spec Ranger will look more like the F150.
