Ok so I bought my car back in fall and it had SVT headers with the cat and the flex pipe with an FSWerks race exhaust on it. The EGR was not attached to the header and was just daggling there and a cap were it was suppose to go. I could not get the cap off to get the EGR back in so I could go and pass my emissions. I ended up putting the stock headers and stuff back on. Now I got the cap off and want to put the headers back on. I just don’t know if the EGR will fit or not and why the guy didn’t have it attached in the first place. Do I need something different to attach it? Also I put a new EGR and a solenoid in around November and my check engine light is on for something wrong with the EGR so it might have a plugged tub or something so if I need to replace something it might not be too bad. Please let me know if I need to get new parts or something to attach the EGR to my SVT headers. Also for what I know everything with the EGR is stock.

Thanks,
Michael

So the headers has the bung for the EGR to screw onto? You can bend the EGR pipe a little to reach, but if it can't reach, then just have your local exhaust shop extend the EGR pipe.

On the CEL its more than likely on because the EGR isn't hooked up.

Pics?

The stock SVT header has no provisions for an EGR system so you'd have to fabricate something to hook it up.

If it's one of the old FRPP SVT headers then it should have an EGR fitting but you'd need the special EGR tube to connect to it.

Again, pics will make all the difference in figuring this out.

^Reset the ECU by unhooking the battery for 15 minutes.

That's the old FRPP header for the zetec Steve was talking about. That kit had an EGR tube that was specific to the kit. Without it, you will need to find a way (extend the EGR tube) to fit properly. The special tube from the FRPP kit was not available as a separate part number, so one cannot be bought from Ford.

You could try a WTB listing. There may be someone who didn't use theirs.

I'd personally run to the local exahsut shop and have them extend the tube for you. It would be a 20 minute job and about $10-$20.

So just put my headers on and just leave the EGR and the EGR tube on the car and just take the whole car to them and tell them what I need? I’m assuming that they would just cut the tube and hook the one end up the headers and then attach a piece to connect the two?

BTW, FFR, since no one else has mentioned it yet (in this post)... you have 4 runners, but only one header, not headers.
