Weather you believe me or not does not chance the fact that I am right. ... The whole reason that people cant make power with VVT is that they don’t have a way to control it or don’t know how to tune it correctly. That’s it...

I wish I could clap and cheer you on! Lol - Do they have emoticons for that on Focaljet?

Haha - I don't mind the "debate" at all. I like to make fun of VCT haters to my friends :)

The funny part is the guy is probably ranting to his "mates" about how stupid I am.

I think the problem is a lot of these guys are using stand alone ems across the pond dont have the provisions to control the VVT, so they have to delete it. Then the guy makes some decent power and, poof you have to delete the VVT to make power and VVT is rubbish!

I think many people ditch the factory ECU for that specific reason. Plus, many of the Ford ECUs are a royal PITA - especially the SVT.

I have no experience tuning an svtf(or a new 5.0 or anything with variable cam timing), but I have had no problem with any mustang computer at any level under at least 800hp... I don't see how much different the vct could be, other than, like you say, knowledge/experience with it.

While we're waiting for pics, I have a question. I seen it written numerous times that a normal zetec head gasket will raise your compression ratio by the mere fact that it is thinner. I've also seen it written numerous times that there was concern over valve contact or other ugly business due to this mod. What is the final word on this???

It shouldnt be a problem, Top Speed is running a zetec HG and a head that has been decked twice. Im not sure exactly how much has been taken off. I know the first time it was .012" and the took more off to further raise compression.

Would a zetec HG not give a proper seal or wear out quicker? I'm trying to figure out why they used a thicker one from the factory.

Debatable.
Yes you CAN use a standard gasket. Yes it will raise compression. Yes it will reduce the piston to valve clearance by ~.011? (difference in gasket thicknesses)
To get around this we custom built the pistons with valve pockets for all 4 valves :) and to be rebuildable around the standard Zetec gasket.
