Took my car in to alignment shop due to the toe being off. Chewed up the inside of two tires before I realized I had an issue:mad:

They could not bust the lock nut off on the outer driver side:rolleyes:. Any ideas on how to get this off? Cut nut?

I guess I will replace the outer while I'm there. Also doing the FMS SVT suspension kit this weekend- should be fun.

Looking forward to getting the car back to a new feel suspension wise.

The shop rounded this thing off so bad I had to notch it then air chisel to get loose. I tried soaking it in PB Blaster overnight, then tried some heat... nothing

Needless to say I need some new inner tire rods so I can get a new nut.

Anyone know the correct part # for them or length and thread known? RockAuto has a few different listings:
M14 X1.5 @ length 357.5mm (Moog)

M14 X 2.0, metric thread with external thread (Delphi)

M14 X 2.0, length 321 mm (Lemforder)

You need the lock nut that's used to lock the inner and outer from spinning when doing an alignment?

I'd have to order them, they're dirt cheap though.

Also, the inner tie rods don't include new nuts and in fact I've never even sold one of those lock nuts.

Yes that is what I need. I always thought that a inner came with a nut. That's what some parts catalogs show.
I'll give you a call

Talked with Bill? there at Tousley and ship costs would negate buying from you guys. I will try and find it local.

Part # for future reference if anyone is looking is
E820011S72

Shipping can be an issue and it really depends on the time frame you need it but I deal with people every day that would rather spend the extra money here rather than deal with their local guys.

Let me know if there's anything else you need.

Like me. :)

Aftermarket inner rod ends ALWAYS came with a new lock nut. I think they needed to use a little (lot) more heat on it. Being in the rust belt of Michigan I've had to deal with this often when doing alignments.
