My Sonic was built in Lake Orion Michigan.

I'm very sure GM going under would have done fantastic things for the American public.

On the other hand, you sound like an ignorant person, so reasonable thoughts may not win this argument.

Not that i am taking sides in this but mk3 focus's are built in michigan. Fiesta's and fusions are built in mexico. My 2007 ST was built in the good old usa as well

Thanks I know this, but from searching qweesy's started threads it appears he has an MK1...

So he's talking **** about someone buying a brand new, American assembled car, while it appears he has a 8-12 year old car that was assembled in another country.

Saying automakers should have gone under is basically saying every family in southeast Michigan can screw off and go live on the streets. To have such an ignorant view just because of some stupid brand loyalty is just asinine.

I agree, while chevy should pay back the bailout money, them going under would have been very very bad.
Nowwww back to modding the sonic lol

Added a 2.5" ZZP exhaust system over these last couple days. Along with a secondary catalytic converter delete pipe.

I originally had it installed with the muffler in place but it was a little too quiet.

So I ordered just the rear section of the exhaust system from ZZP without the muffler and here is the result.

I agree that they should have gone bankrupt and reorganized to run their companies better. But I don't think they should have gone out of business and lost all of those jobs.
On a related note, my Toyota was made in Indiana and my (2003) Focus was made in Mexico.

To the OP, I'm glad you were able to get a new car. Is there a reason you didn't pick up a new Focus? I think they're a much better car than the Sonic and the automotive press agrees with me. What's the deal? Better financing or something?

Because I don't agree that it's a better car for myself. I like to modify my cars and modding the Focus wouldn't provide nice gains.

It has no aftermarket tuning support.

Very minimal aftermarket modification support.

Weighs more.

Not turbocharged.

The sonic has all of those, weighs less, gets better MPGs and is cheaper. Not to mention the Sonic isn't even in the same class as the Focus. Proper comparison would be to the Fiesta and the Sonic is better in every way possible.

While [FJ] members love the Focus, we tend to be an all inclusive group that likes many cars from many makers for many different reasons. In other words, we're not just a group of fanboys that only likes one model like many other sites.

The Sonic is a massive jump up from the old Aveo and it is showing great promise. I'm sure once the Fiesta ST hits the streets, there will be some great competition for the Sonic, but it's hard to beat a factory FI car with an NA car when it comes to tuning.

Awesome numbers. Still not a huge fan of the platform, but I really like what you've done with it.
