Right, here's my project thread for my ST.

I purchased it in July after having a 2008 Focus ST with 312 bhp, then a Mondeo ST TDCI with 165 bhp.

Its a 2002 ST170

99k miles on the clock

Xenon Lamps with washers
Climate Control
Sunroof
Rear Spoiler
After-market side skirts and rear bumper lip

That's a sweet looking mkIV Golf with the intercooler piping poking out. That yours too?

What kind of plans do you have for the ST170? Is it going to stay mostly stock and be a daily driver? Stanced out lowrider? Bare bones track car?

The golf belongs to the fella in the pic....

Its running around 260 bhp!!

As for the 170 I make it my own as a daily driver but with a decent stance

Ill probably get koni shocks and springs which will lower it by 40 mm without being too harsh a ride for my little girl

the first thing on the agenda was replace the buggered front tyres,,,, this was the worse out of the 2

next was replacing the missing headlamp washer parts, which meant buying these

then painting the caps body colour and then fitting them

not the best sight the day before Ford Fair

I also got hold of a Transit Connect air box for a mod

bit more extra cold air always helps

also got this lot painted too

while at Ford Fair I purchased a few bits

a spare manifold for heat wrapping

some Compbrake solid top suspension mounts

Auto Specialists bonnet raiser blocks

The next day the bonnet blocks were fitted

not everyones cuppa but I like the look, plus it goes with my plans ;)

after that I decided to remove the underbonnet sound proofing crap

next was to sort the wheels out as they were a bit shabby, so satin black it was

not bad for my first refurb attempt

after that was locate the scangauge,

and fit a Cybox stainless exhaust. Doesnt add any peformance gains as the original exhaust was tuned by Cosworth but it does remove the rear silencer for a bit more noise

nice bit of kit for ÂŁ200 new off fleabay

apparently they are former staff/company of Peco exhausts (not sure if thats true)

finally before trax was this

The latest OEM mod is a Focus automatic air deflector.... it has the extra scoop on the n/s that fits right into the ST170 factory snorkel for added air flow

I also have a decat pipe on order from another ST170

I got a wicked buy off fleabay, a Bluefin handset with ST170 map for ÂŁ25!!!!

got a few things that i wanna do to it...........

Focus SVT front bumper
Black eye headlamps with xenon lense upgrade
MSD coil pack
Massive Speed HT leads
Contour thermostat housing
low temp thermostat
Koni SRT shocks with H&R springs
Pollybushes
FSWerks rear ARB
FSWerks strut brace
JOM led US style rear lamps
Pro black AS bits
Airtec mk1 RS radiator
Samcos
Vernier pulley on exhaust cam
Will Pedley breather
wheel spacers
decent brakes

probably some more bits that i have forgotten

if I can get it I would like the full leather Recaro interior, but they hard to get hold of in decent condition

also going to look into getting a mk1 RS Brembo front brake set up...need to find out if it'll fit with my 17" wheels with spacers or if i need 18" wheels

I still need to get a few bit together before i can sort out the spare manifold I have :-

some heat wrap
ARP manifold bolts

Also need to fit the top mounts

Lookin good!

How do you like the scan gauge? I've been wanting to get one for awhile.
ive had mine for about 3 years and its a great bit of kit

obviously different cars allow for different displays, and it comes in very handy for clearing warning lights off the dash

Wow, refreshing the wheels makes the car look MUCH better. Nice work!

thanks mate......thats what everyone has said since i did them

Yea been busy couple of months :D

As for the purple........ I wanted a colour that would be different on a grey car....

I think a deeper shade of purple would fit in much better with the color of the car. I do like purple though!

it is a bit darker than the pics make out

i did have a person on facebook comment saying that purple isnt really an under-bonnet colour!!

wtf is then?

Actually it may be the fact that the purple is flat looking in color. BTW Massive Speed Systems in the US uses Purple as their signature color.

Here is and example of some of their parts in the color

This color looks fantastic in person

i managed to get a bargain on fleabay this week

an original bluefin by superchips for focus st170

it even came with all the original documents!!

downside is that ill need to send it back to superchips to be updated, but ill get the newest usb enabled handset with the latest map all for less than actually buying it brand new from them!
