First time at track with my Focus, and first time driving FWD at a strip.

Had SCT custom tune for 98 Ron by Torrie

Milage: 5,000 miles

achieved best time of 14.3 at 100 with traction control off, crazy wheel spin at high rpm.

60 ft was around 2.3. I will try to launch better next time.

also experimented with shift points, it seems i get the best speed at 6,500 RPM.

tire pressure was 25psi

Thank you

That first 60ft is hurting you. Also being on the rev limit when you cross the 1/4 mile is hurting you as well. You're better off shifting to 4th.

Practice makes perfect. I started out running 14.3-14.2, learned how to launch it and got down to a 13.8, learned how to shift quicker and launch even better and got to a 13.5... then I added slicks and went 12.9, all without adding anymore power.

It still baffles me why Ford decided to make the ST such a fat pig. There is no reason that car should weigh 3200+lbs.
