My 03 Zx3 has had a stumble like no other. The car will start fine and run okay until it reaches operating temp. When it reaches operating temp, It had a very hard bog. The drivetrain/power-train light with the cog and exclamation point comes on, and my temp gauge jumps all the way to right before the overheating zone. I dont understand the problem, I think it is something electrical or fuel related. So far I have Cleaned the MAF thoroughly, replaced the battery and cleaned all of the ground connections. A few weeks ago the car had to get towed because it wouldn't start, but I cleaned the grounds.
 
Take it to a car parts store and have that code read. Post the result. Otherwise, the bogging at operating temp sounds like it could be a DPFE/EGR problem... except that doesn't explain the overheat.

I have inconsistent EGR codes. I first starting throwing an EGR code a while ago but it wasn't a problem until recently. The CEL for the EGR is ver inconsistent too. It will turn on randomly for 2 days then not turn on for a week, you catch my drift. I guess I will replace EGR and see where that takes me.
 
What exactly is the code number? It could be a vacuum leak to the EGR valve, or a bad DPFE sensor.

Before you replace the EGR, first check the DPFE sensor, that is the usual culprit for EGR codes. Moisture (from short trips that don't fully warm the engine) gets into the sensor and ruins it. It can still function sometimes, but will never work right again after water fouling. You'll probably have to replace that.

Code P0401. My egr valve is rusted to ****, so shes getting replaced very soon. Checking DPFE and other components tonight. Sorry for late response.
