Not sure if this is a repost but I found this at my local toy store:

Re: \'05 Mustang GT - Grimlock

I thought Grimlock was a T-Rex?
It's just a toy line called Binaltech Transformers that Takara of Japan made.

Grimlock isn't always a dinosaur in the TF universe.

I had to get it from Canada years ago. The ONLY good thing that has come out of Canada, lol.

Re: \'05 Mustang GT - Grimlock

Is he still dumb like the dinobot version?
Image
No, he is not. This Binaltech line was just made only for toys and most likely will not be put into the anime. Then again we'll never know that until Cyberton/Galaxy Force is released.

In that series, it seems like there are multiple galaxies of Transformers. So there will be multiple Convoys/Primes in the series.

I can't wait to see it though as it supposedly has no connection whatsoever with the lame Superlink/Energon series.

The War Within version of Starscream is in it too! ^_^ I wonder if an Optimus version will be released too.

Yes I do have TF:TM. I even have the one released by f.h.e.

Yep the one with "the word" censored out. I also got one that I ordered from Canada and also the DVD that was released in the U.S.

Recently though since I've been real busy, I haven't kept up with the comics.

Last issue I had was the first issue of the whole G.I. Joe/Transformers thing.

That is so awesome, I had the cast metal tractor trailer version of Grimlock as a kid. I wish I still had that, I bet it would be worth some money now.

Re: \'05 Mustang GT - Grimlock

In the United States, the Binaltech toys are called Transformers: Alternators. The same WRC STi that has been posted up before on here is in this series. There are several vehicles in this series, including 2 Vipers (gen.2 & gen. 3), RX-8, 2 Jeep Wranglers, 2 STis (Silver & WRC Blue), S2000, the 2005 Mustang, and a new "anniversary" version of Optimus Prime that retails at an ungodly $80!!! MANY old gen. 1 Transformer names have been reused in this series (Grimlock, Smokescreen, Windcharger, Sideswipe, Hound, Swindle, Dead End, Tracks, Wheeljack, Shockwave, etc). For people who like/liked the gen. 1 toys, a little bit of extra-coolness is the fact that they have tried to incorporate the same head and facial appearance of the gen. 1 Transformers they have reused into these Alternators (Hound's head looks like Hound, Shockwave's head looks like the old Shockwave, etc.).

Where is the Grimlock toy you found located? If it is in the US, it is likely an import considering the Japanese text on the packaging.

If anybody sees Grimlock, Shockwave, Wheeljack, Tracks, or Battle Ravage at any stores in SoCal let me know please!!!!!!!!!

See for yourself!

I found this one at my old employer www.toysnjoys.com. It is the import version hence the Binaltech name. The differences from what I know between the Binaltechs and Alternators is that the Binaltechs are die-cast and the wheels are rubber. Alternators are full-on plastic with a different looking paint job (due to plastic) and the wheels are plastic.

As for finding these in the SoCal area, it should be easily found at your local Toys R Us. Supposedly they even have a sale going on with them Alternators.

The Binaltechs ($60+)are obviously more expensive then their cheaply made Alternators ($20). You may want to hit up Best Buy also.

I know in Oregon/Seattle it's easy to find.

What I'm looking for is Nemesis Prime from the TF Universe line. He is a remake of Big Convoy from the Japanese Beast Wars. Big Convoy transforms into a big mammoth. IMHO, that figure is one of the best designed and well detailed Transformers out there on the market.

Come this weekend I might do a little hunt.

Alternator tires are rubber, just like Binaltech.
