Just this weekend I finished up my 2.0 SPI swap to the 93 Pony, and last weeked Escort_KXT (ERDT) fineshed his lx.

Both of us are running on stock internals.
I'm running 6psi. No problems yet, I'v only put about 75 miles on it. I put 2000 miles on the stock 1.9, still ran great when I pulled it, just the wore out stock clutch couldnt take it any more.
I have stock ignition, just colder plugs, no knock, no ping no deto, no smoke (just tire smoke heheheh).
I have a stage one clutchmasters clutch, holds great.

Hey, that looks great! Nice detail work on the motor and intake manifold.


Hopefully It won't be too long before I get to experience teh boost too.

There actully might be some out running around, Geoff Knights made the supercharger kit for the 1.9, before the 2.0 was made, so chances are some one has one, we just dont know who

I think the problem is that Ford doesnt tell the customers about this website when they sell the cars origionally.


That is a nice looking motor there, congrats to the escort folks on bein cool.


And whats the deal with the escort crowd having their intercooler hangin half out? Are they tryin to start a new styling trend?

I remember reading about that 98 sedan with the turbo kit that had no fuel or ignition mods and was good for 5 psi. but, that could have been partly because of the variable fuel pump
Your 3rd gen is a 97 right? Since you have a return line, use a FMU. Having no fuel managment is not a good idea, I know a 98 is the same fuel system as a Zetec, and you wont find any Zx3 owner's suggesting relying on 100% stock fuel system with any boost.
Is that 98 turbo still around?

Yes, the trend is called "Icantaffordarealintercooler" trend.
Once founds become availble (ha) I will buy a real FMIC.
mine isnt hanging half out...lol , well if i wear daisy duke shorts id assume it would hang half out...
unless its cold out then maybe not...ok enough ...

anyways. The 98 was sold, and was never heard from again.
i had pictures before i lost all my non-backed-up files.
he said he was running five just fine,but got blow-by, much like Crankor, at six. is a 12:1 FPR okay?? or should I go for the 1:1.

yeah before the rebuild my blowby was very severe, im glad to here you other guys are dealing with it, guess my rings were farther toast then yours are, and for stock injectors, you need 12:1 or 10:1 but if you dont want to have to run that much psi, you can do what jeff did and get the 24lb injectors then i think you need 8:1 maybe 6:1 id have to look it up, good luck

jeff is that yours? cuz its a 4bolt flang so its hte smaller ihi, if its not your and its his, guess another exp manny is going to a good home
