Re: Fun Shiz/Auto-X/Motorsport

YAY!! I was hoping to get in some races in this year. We will see after my visit to OST. :)
I may also have a line on some used Azenis as well in Colorado. If the price is right, ($75 or so plus shipping) I may snag that set. They look to have 30-40% tread left:thumbup:

Two beat, rock-hard ishty sets of once-sticky tires to get me through the season FtW:lol:

I have new shoes that need to get tried on. Currently they are frozen in the garage lol pay day is saturday. I may convince myself to spend a tiny bit on lugs and studs. Hopefully they dont rub too bad lol

A tribute to this thread:

The land of race car ya-yas,
The land where you can't change lanes,
The land where large fuzzy dice still hang proudly
Like testicles from rear view mirrors

Can't wait till mid Fabruary!

I'd like to add this one to the list -

Sunday, April 10th is the Niello VW Ranch Run that benefits the Ride To Walk program where our daughter Emily had her therapeutic horseback riding. We've decided to stop the program for now, but the benefit it provides for kids with all types of neurological limitations is truly amazing. I love volunteering for this event for obvious and multiple reasons :D

Here's the site for the event, which is not really updated as much as it should be:

http://www.nielloranchrun.com/index.html

I think the doors open to spectators at 10am (I will need to confirm) and cost of admission is only $3. The collection of aircooled cars is amazing and you'll find all kinds of watercooled goodness, too. With roughly 250+ VWs, it's kind of hard to see it all.

Having some NorCal peeps there would be pretty awesome - I just volunteer for registration in the AM, so I'm free after about 10 or 10:30am. I also know where they hide the Type II that has beer taps coming out of the right rear panel :D

Re: Fun Shiz/Auto-X/Motorsport

And the off season is officially over! First event of the season is in the books. Had a blast at the Fresburg Fairgrounds, in spite of the funky surface(s). I swear I saw dried horse poop when I was doing a course walk. :screwy:

Highlights of the day include my bud Ric Quinonez piloting a Chevy Volt around the course and meeting Rob Krider. (Of course I informed Rob that I'm an Ogre lover!)

Now I'm grooving on some Rolex 24, nomming on a double-double animalized and draining a few 2 Belows. Life is good!

Lucky. We have two more weeks until our first event, I'm chompin' at the bit to test out all the changes on the Datsun.
