3dr vs. 5dr (hatchbacks) what\'s the difference?

Maybe you guys can help me. Just recently I bought a 5dr SVT Focus and I have be having a hell of a time finding the custom body parts that I want. The problem I'm having is that everything is either for a 3dr or a 4dr. What are the differences between a 3dr and a 5dr body wise? Can I get away with using a 3dr part when it comes to a hood, body kit or whatever? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Everything from the doors front is the same on every 2000-2004 non-svt focus. Sideskirts are the same for every focus, even the wagon, except those that will cover the rear doors. The rear is the exact same as a 3dr. The doors are the same as a 4dr. And the interior is the same as a 4dr. The headliner is the same for all hatches, 3 or 5dr.

Yep, the only thing you have to be weary of with a 5 door is covering the back door or getting too close at the bottom of the rear doors. But everything is the same size, width, height, length as a 3 door.

At first i didnt believe my car was the same length as a 3 door, but i measured and sure enough they are. I have SVT 3door skirt on my 5 door, and they fit perfect and look great.

Look in your owners manuals. There is a drawing in the back of each model and wheelbases.

the zx3 and zx5 are similar but if you lower the zx5 it will be lower than a zx3 also the zx5 is a tad bit longer then the zx3 trust me me and my friend measured and look at the evrytime we meet up but sideskirts will pit just depend on wich brand. Front and back bumper will fit to.

How do you figure? You said your self: The rockers the same length, the the front and back bumper are identical. And the wheelbase is documented to be the exact same. Their the same size. The only difference between the two cars is the number of doors and windows.
