did the same when I had my focus.
I bought one off ebay for like 15$.
Never installed it...too lazy to drive to carquest and buy a spi tb gasket and a 4.6 tb gasket
I planned on using them as a template for making my adapter plate out of 1/2 aluminum. also, instead of using the IAC passage from the 4.6 tb, like gigaherz did, I was going to drill it thru the side of the adapter plate , screw a barbed fitting there, either put a breather filter on it or a piece of tubing connected to the intake, for the IAC to suck some clean air.
IMHO I think (if possible, it looks like it is..) you shouldn't bother modifying the throttle linkage on the 4.6 tb, instead, try to make your own throttle cable braket to keep the throttle cable at a nice distance/angle from the linkage. This way, the only mod you'll have to do on the tb is to drill the throttle cable hole on the linkage a bit bigger.
add maybe 10$ for both gasket, a couple of bucks for allan head bolts, some RTV sealant, a piece of scrap aluminum, some tubing or a filter for the IAC... you can probably do something for less than 50$ including the TB.. and it's probably possible to make this within a couple of hours if you have the right tools.
