I'm running H&R race springs and Konis, dropping me about 2" (maybe more). I would like to pick up some 16" Rota Grid's, but they are a 40mm offset. What tire size do I have to run to not rub?

you're most likely going to rub with that offset and drop. 205/45/16, 205/50/16. wouldnt' go any bigger than that.

I had 17x7, 215/45/17 with a progress tech drop and rubbed. Going with the 16" rim if they are 7" wide and maybe a 205/40/16 you might get by, but it will be close. I am not familiar with the h&r kit.

i would not suggest running a 205/40/16. not enough meat to protect the wheel. i bent 2 wheels running that size tire. do a search for OUCH!!!!!! and you'll see what im talking about.

yeah, I would prefer 45 series as well. But I figure the 40 would help a bit since he is lowered. Yes it is more risky for damaging the rims. I have 18's with 35 series though and haven't had any problems. next time I will spend the extra for 40 series just for better piece of mind.
