a new project i\'m thinkin of

Anyone ever heard of the Austin America??

its a relative of the Mini Cooper and i found two of them out in Phoenix at a junk yard. they have a 1300cc engine and weigh 1850 lbs. with a 67% front 33% rear weight ratio

i wanna strip one make it as light as possible and make it do stoppies like the mini i have a video of.

Friend of mine had one in Il.(He also has a 63 Mini w/997) Pretty gutless car. One thing I do remember, is that it had a Red line that went back and forth for the speedometer. No needle like on a gauge.

How much and can you get the title cleared to put it back on the street. Those things are complete go Karts. Could you imagine puting a 2.0l Zetec in on of these. How much fun would that be.

they have vtec swaps for mini's and it uses the same engine so i'm guessing the vtec swap into this wouldn't be to hard. yeah imagine going from 60hp at the flywheel to 175 to the wheels, the thing would be a rocket, especially at only 1800 lbs stock. after i get done removing all the "unnessecary" crap inside the thing would prolly be close to 1600, WOOOOO!!!!

I know jobless fools like me don't have money for shibby-sweet, but all-together pointless ventures such as this...which leads me to believe that out-of-state college students probably don't either. Hope I didn't just squish a child-hood dream.

haha, yeah, i tend to make impulse buys, and this would be a bad one as i don't have a garage or even a driveway for that matter
