How would i go about dynoing an engine? Do i need to take it out of the car or can it be done in the car? also what are the price ranges usually? and does anyone know of any near houston?

you dyno on the wheel dyno, you drive you car up onto it, they strap your car down, you go to 3rd of 4th gear, hit the record button and punch the gass till redline

this will tell you your WHP, wheel horsepower, which is about 17% less than crank hp

call around, they are all over the place

you should post this in the Lonestar forum, some of the guys there know who does dynos,etc. Have you checked with Carboys in Houston, I know they dyno but sure how much it is.

When I call them up I find out that they have never had it calibrated for HP, don't have WB, and use it only for speedometer checks.
