Another Exhaust Question...

I know this question has probably been asked before but forgive me if this is a repost of another FJ member's.....

Anyways..

I was thinking about going 4-1 header w/ a Magnaflow catback system with a resonator...

1. Is this combination going to make my Focus ungodly loud because the lack of a catalitic converter (sorry I can't spell)? Or well the resonator do it's job?

2. Is it better if I just go with FocusSport's "silent" cat back system since I'm going straight pipe (pretty much straight pipe anyways)?

I don't know if anyone remembered but I was planning to bolt on an aftermarket converter to the catback (sort of Honda-like) but I don't know how hard that would be. I've been thinking about just going 4-1 into a catback if it wasn't too loud for a daily driver.

Thanks!

I have the magnaflow system with no cat and shorty headers. I have a 15" cat in there now. Sounds good but kind of loud. Try a resonator between 15 and 22". I had a 22" on before and it was to quiet for me. you should get a 22" if you don't like the noise.
I currently have the FS 4-1 Headers and 'Stealth' exhaust setup and I couldn't be happier. It isn't excessively loud, but you will hear it when you mash on it. It's a nice deep rumbling opposed to the loud aluminum whine of fartcans strapped to the back of the car.

I was also thinking about that, putting on a resonator. Does Magnaflow sell the resonator with the catback as an option or do I have to purchase the resonator myself?

Do I just weldo on the resonator if I do it by myself?
