Does the SVTF K&N Typhoon Short Ram Intake come with any sort of heat shielding?

Or is the entire kit just a powdercoated pipe and a filter.

BTW, im NOT talking about the aircharger, i know that one has a heat shield.

thx!

It also tries to take advantage of the stock air intake ducting. It's hard to say what actual effect that has. However, at highway speed, there is probably some slight effect. The problem to me is that the filter is just open to the ambient car air so it is not drawing from the cool air supply in the same way the "sealed" stock box does. So, at speed, the RAM air intake is probably getting some cooling, but not a lot different from rush of air through the front of the car and out the rear top and bottom of the engine compartment. I have it. Throttle response is good once up a bit in the RPM range. But I have Wayne's SCT Tune, a ported throttle body, RT cat, Borla, and engine mounts. Hard to say what the different bits do...they combine for a very small improvement over the stock SVT engine.

I have the Typhoon, but combined with the Mach 5 bonnet. Sounds great
Not sure about specific gains as it's part of the "whole".
