"We replaced it using the new parts and wont do it again!"

even though it has 800 miles on the new clutch and is doing the same that it did before (rattle/knocking in neutral and stops when you put the clutch in)

I think its sorry and gonna take it up with the mgr when i get there but it was ford that told them to tell me that.

Now they did the TSB in December and my Warranty was up Dec 31 but its supposed to have a 12mo/12k mile coverage on it. but they said no we did it like a 5 year old:rant:

Mine was just replaced for the second time. They told me the same thing, the new parts are in there, and we won't do the TSB over again. I raised hell, and it took 6 months before they finally pulled the tranny out to find out what was making so much noise. They got a real surprise when they got the tranny out. The flywheel was completely toast. The springs in it broke.

Yeah i picked it up and the mgr said basicall it needs to be worse than it is now before the tech will take it apart so i will just drive it and if it kills it throw a fit since I took it in early on :)

The dealer MUST use the NEW parts.

According to fordparts (i think that's his handle) there is no SUPERCESSION listed in the parts book, so unless the service person takes the actual part #'s from the book OVER TO THE PARTS COUNTER PERSONALLY, there is a good chance that the parts guys will just order new SVT clutch parts -- which will fain in a similar manner.

So make sure that you tell them this and if they get pissy, call the blue oval and complain!

Mine doesn't make the noises you guys are describing but it seems to slip every once in a while. Either that or the tires are spinning with no noise!

Anyway I am into my extended warranty period. Will Ford replace a worn out clutch with < 13,000 miles or so on it if you have the bumper to bumper warranty?

If they did the TSB then you got the new parts.

They can not install the old style parts with the new setup because the updated parts are physically larger.

It is possible that they installed the old style stuff the first time if they did not follow the TSB.

You can still buy the original stuff, not all SVT's have this problem. Mine has 62000 on the original clutch and it is still going fine.

If you are out of factory warranty then be careful how hard you push the 12-12 warranty on the new parts because the 12-12 is a parts only warranty and they could hose you on the labor end of it.

It depends on the dealer, probably not though.

Technically the original 3-36 warranty only covers the clutch for the first 12-12 because it is considered a wear item, Ford provided additional coverage in the form of the clutch TSB because they recognised that there was a problem.
