I had been having an intermittent stalling problem usually when slowing down when you put the clutch in the car would die, I was thinking perhaps it was a slow/sticky IAC so I brought one home and the fun started.
So I put in the new IAC and the car jumps to 3000 at a cold start and takes forever to come down, it also climbs between gears and hangs at an idle VERY slowly dropping to 900 revs.
I figured I would try a second IAC just in case (replaced o-ring gasket as well) and the second IAC does the exact same thing.
So this morning I put the old IAC back in and the car behaves perfectly.
WTF- I know these cars use an adaptive learning strategy but this makes no sense, What do I have to do, drive it for a week while the thing idles at 2000-3000 at a stop light?
I did disconnect the battery so the PCM would reset each time and still the old IAC works perfectly and the new ones make the car psychotic.
Anyone else had this issue or any thoughts on it?
