*Attn* SVT w/ Replaced Clutches...

512 Views 9 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  CCC
Hey Guys...I'm still waiting on whether or not Ford will be kind to me and warranty my clutch and save me a whole lot-o money. So I'm also preparing to shell out for the needed parts. What I wanted to know was how many of you guys that replaced/upgraded the clutch on your SVT, at how many miles did you do the swap, and did you keep your stock SVT clutch or trash it. Thanks...

i had the clutch replaced under warranty on my first svt and it was pretty much my fault due to not really knowing how to drive a stick when i got the car basically they knew it was my fault i knew it was my fault but after fighting for a week they finally decided to fix it but with all the parts they have to order it took over a month to get it fixed. but oh well that car was a piece anyway compared to my 03
Like I said before, put the blame on the jackass who drove it over to their other location. If it wasn't sliping before the service, why was it after you picked it up!
Unfortuneatly i go there and say it wasn't slipping before and then they hard-ass manager like, "I drove your car...and yeah...it was slipping a bit...but I didn't tell George (the service advisor), cause I didn't think anything of it." Then he was trying to say that he didn't cause it because he doesn't "drive hard". So I'm stumped as to what I can really get away with blaming it on...but it really wasn't slipping until after I got it back...so i'll try my hardest.

Was the " hard-ass manager " the service manager. If he was than he needs to get his butt out of his ass.How could any one in his position make a ststement like "I didn't think anything of it".
Stick to your story and tell them it was not like that before you droped it off.
Is this dealership the one you purchased the car from.

CCC,
Maybe you should put a call in to Ford customer service(800)392-3673 and explain the situation to them what happened to your clutch after getting your SVTF back then file a complaint against the dealership since the Service Manager is failing to take any sort of resposibility for his employees.Just a thought for you.Good luck and still keep us updated.

Maybe a good idea that I'll keep in my hidden bag-o-tricks...and call on if needed...still no word though. Thanks for your help...
