God that car is beautiful(minus the wing). However, just as my opinion, from the inside shots of him driving, he apeared to be shifting just fine. Cluch was all the way down for a long enough time, thrown into gear completly, I cant understand why the grinding through the gears. Im probley wrong, but do you think that the sound might be normal for the application hes running? I do agree that it sounds horrible and I feel sorry for that poor car but it almost seems like someone who could handle that car knew what he was doing. I mean come on, how many of us actually know what a skyline sounds like from the ****pit anyways?

I'm almost certain that the noise is from his synchrous. They are probably all ate up. If you watch the in car view carefully you can see that the shifter just jumpers around on the gears until it goes in. With the way that car is driven it wouldn't be a suprise if they are gone.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that driver, but every syncro in that tranny is gone, hence the grinding.

Sweet car

My guess is they went with a dogbox for strength and the driver just hasnt got the hang of a non syncro tranny

I was just wondering who in their right mind would pair a car like that with a syncromeshed transmission?

Well it seems none of you have AWD Tranmission knowledge. The grinding is caused by the dog box thats in the transmission. If you notice it is when he is goin from Rear wheel drive back to all wheel drive. The car can be changed between RWD (hence the massive burn out) and AWD (mad crazy 6,000 rpm launches). It is not the trans grinding. If you dont believe me go get a 4x4 pickup and do it. You will find that most trucks will do it as well but not as loud.

how do you drive a transmission like that then?

do you double clutch?
I'm guessing you'd have to somehow match revs into the next gear...

-Shift fast and hold the gas a bit between gears?

I really don't know... Didn't REALLY old cars come with non-syncro trannys... how were those driven?

Awesome car, but damn it sounds like a POS between shifts...

Still, it must be a damn good tranny if he can do 6,000RPM launches.
