Hey all!! I'm back in a Focus!!! Recently sold my Mk6 Jetta GLi, and was looking for something to play with, AutoX, and just daily drive until the Focus RS comes out next year.

So stumbled across an amazingly clean SVT I just couldn't leave alone. 2003, 73k original miles. Summer only car, never seen a winter. Underneath has no rust at all. The bolts are still shiny on most parts. Zinc coating on the calipers as well. It has acouple dents, but those are getting PDR'd in the next week or two. It's not perfect, it's 12+ yrs. oh well

So this will be an ongoing build tread. Even tho I told myself I was just doing basic small mods... I know this will get out of hand. Quickly. I didn't even have it home and parts were on order.

Timing assembly, blah blah blah. Sorry, force of habit from the old days. ;)

Looks great man.

Where's the 4x108 plate? Now that it makes sense again and it's not on the car? lol

It's going on tonight. I just got back in city and washed it. I'm still rocking those plates. Haha

Great to see this one going to a good home, wish I could have met up with you guys last night. Can't wait to see what happens with this one.

BTW-How do you like your first SVT?

Ya we'll have to meet up. Going to a AutoX at Canterbury and DCTC, you should come by. I'm gonna try getting the MK1 Rabbit to Madfurther too. A lot of variety at that car show if you wanna swing by. Lmk

I'm loving the car so far. It pulled pretty good on the way home. Very surprised. It's been so long since I rode in a SVT. Surprised how much it pulls compared to a regular ZX or 2.3d.
My 2 major complaints so far is the huuuge shifter. But that STS was ordered before I got the car. And the green face gauges clash with the red inserts. Lol I'm being picky. Otherwise it's fun.

Just need to find a set of wheels and 5dr harness bar.

A properly running SVT is a lot of fun to drive, people whine about the gearing but the Getrag really works well to keep the engine right in the power band.

It looks like you got an excellent buy, even if you paid twice "book". That is to say, a fresh SVTF is a great find! It's good to know you'll appreciate it... perhaps all the more. I know I'll miss mine whenever I no longer drive it.

But for now you can, once again, scratch the driving itch that only the engineering Gestalt of steering, suspension, power-to-weight, gearing, and trustworthiness of a well tuned SVTF can reach... they define a class, "Econo-exotic".

(First gear is for dragsters.)

Welcome back!! You and your car were one of my main inspirations for starting to mod my (original) car.
Now I have three of these things and counting. Nice car btw!!

#16 ·
Thanks!! I miss those cars, also a major inspiration why I got this one.

Wish some of the OG's such as yourself still posted here. I miss Mitch being an ass (love that dude), Davor, etc et al, all you dudes that paved the way to tastefully mod the Mk1.
Hopefully it'll come back some day -- I find the FB crowd quite distasteful for the most part. Naive and ignorant.
Again, welcome back and looking forward to what you have in store for both your SVTf and the FoRS when you get it.

I'm definitely looking forward to the FoRS. It can't get here soon enough.

For reference, this is the other stuff I've been working on/driving while away from FJ.
72' Bug. Partially restored and modded. Sold.

Good God man.

I'd never seen the Caddy or the completed Rabbit. Those are fantastic.

Just because I want to know, how much for the Caddy?

Asking 4800 the way it sits.

1.6diesel so it gets very good mpg. 5spd.

Thanks guys!!!

I'll keep updated on progress. Seems like it's hard now days finding certain parts :(

But a bunch of stuff is on the way. But so far I've blacked out the side markers. Removed license plate bracket and temp filled the bumper holes. Yellow fog LaminX. CFM Short throw and Cobb ST shift knob.

Wow, very clean! An excellent job on the Rabbit all around, and the engine says that car is FUN... perhaps a bit fussy, but a good looking screamer.

Where's the like button?!?!

You have my interest!? I'm in the market for wheels but can't find anything... PM me if your serious

Farted around with these seat brackets tonight and I'm still not happy with them. So I'll be redoing them again later in the week.

Got more suspension parts and my harness bar today. It appears the bar actually fits, just waiting on the b-pillar mount.

Those aren't mine. Mine were 16x7.5, and a key lime green.

Ah yes, I remember those!!

And will let ya know. These have a handful of cracks in the lip and barrel, and a decent amount of curb rash. Plan is to weld them up and run them on the XR with my Hoosiers. I've had them for a year and nothing has happened sooooo we'll see hah.
