What do you think are the best designed cars in history? I'm not talking about engine specs I'm mainly talking about the exterior of the car. Here's my short list...

- Mini Cooper S JCW - One of the most eye pleasing to my eyes

- 1967 Mustang - Muscle car icon for the times

- Porsche Caerra GT - What an exotic should be

- All BMW M3 series - I don't care if you're talking about the 1986 model or the 2005 model, they're all great IMO

The Ferrari Enzo. The classic Mini. The Lotus Seven. The Noble M12 GTR.

Sorry, but for me, performance is inextricably bound up with style.

I don't know why this was the first thing to pop in to my head, but it did.

Morgan Aero 8, it may not be the greatest looking car, but it is definitely unique and it's a solid performer.

Well there are a lot of styles I like... but I don't think they'll stand the test of time and are kinda trendy. These I like on GENERAL styling, although I may not like certain obsolete parts like the wheels, tires, bumpers, door handles, blinkers, mirrors, and little details... the designer sketches if you will:

Oh, Ford GT, how could I have left you out?

And we may very well be talking about the best styled cars in history. However, my own tastes--and possibly others'--happen to find modern cars more appealing than the classics. With a few exceptions (the Mini, the 1971 Mustang Mach 1), modern cars just do a lot more for me.

Even though many people thought the Morgan was over done and ugly I personally liked it too. I mostly liked it when I saw it competing on a touring road course, now that was cool.

I'd rate this in terms of awe-inspiration and all around success in the automotive world, in no particular order:

Ferarri F355 Spider
Lamborghini Countach
Lamborghini Diablo - Murceialago - Gallardo
Ferarri 250 GT California
Ford GT/GT-40
1965 Shelby GT350 - or any classic Mustang
Porsche 911
Jaguar E-Type
AC Cobra
Infiniti G35 Coupe
Toyota MKIV Supra
1970 Datsun 240 Z
Aston Martin V12 Vanquish
Ford Thunderbird - '55-'69
Buick Riviera - late '60's.
'59 Caddillac Eldorado convertible
'69 Chevy Impala SS convertible
Mazda Miata
Lotus Esprit
Rolls Royce Silver Ghost
'60's Mercedes Gull Wing ( forget the actual name )
Mercedes CLK GTR
McLaren F1
Dusenberg Super 8

In my personal opinion, the downright sexiest top 5 would be:

Infiniti G35 Coupe
Lamborghini Murceialago
Ford GT
Ford Mustang - Shelby GT500 KR Convertible
'59 Caddillac Eldorado Convertible
