It took 10 replies, but someone finally went there

I think the idea of the car is neat, if not production worthy. I don't like to iron any more than I have to, and ironing my car would suck I imagine. Plus I would like this better if it was done in morphing nano-particles. Like from Terminator

LMAO... guys, this isn't a car that's supposed to look good, nor is it a car you can even be in a market for.

lol... thats a sweet assumption.

i'm sure bmw engineers sat around a design table saying; "hey guys... let's do a balls-to-the-wall bmw prototype, but lets purposefully make it look bad. we'll give it skin though, to offset the fugly."
I said "it's not supposed to look good," not "BMW made it look bad on purpose." :screwy:

i think it's a cool concept, I mean, how much trouble do we go through to wash and wax our cars, only to get dinged when we go to the grocery store. You can't dent this, and obviously the underpinnings would be strong enough to hold up in a crash. They also might be able to be bolted in several sub assemblies, making post-crash repair easier.

Sure, it's kinda ugly, but from an engineering tech perspective, very cool

Cloth skin is not a new concept... WWI and some WWII airplanes used cloth as their skin. However, on a car I'm sure it's a first.

When I first saw how the hood opened I literally said "Hell yeah!"

EDIT: just watched the video and the headlights freakin' .... ohhhhhh man.

That is the coolest concept this side of the Exelero. The headlights opening and the taillights shining through the skin are fantastic. I almost **** a brick when I saw the engine expose itself. Nate
