Here we have a BRAND NEW never used ported cylinder head for 00-04 Focus with Zetec. This was, as far as I know, a "one of one" custom unit done by legendary Wilson Manifolds in 2001. If you dont know who Wilson is, you might want to check them out, they are synonymous with high end, mainly custom, race induction side stuff. http://www.wilsonmanifolds.com/

Very nice port work. Not as nice as, say, a Massive head. But nice, none the less. Not a "hog it out" hack job by some amateur or moron. Some nice attention payed to the essential chamber area.

  • Crower +1mm stainless valves
  • Crower Valve springs
  • Crower Titanium retainers

The top side is hand clearanced for the very large Crower custom grind cams that had came with it, so just about anything will fit.

Never used, some assembly lube may be here and there from the old cam install.

This was milled approx .080" for BIG compression. Essential for a high HP Zetec build. If turbo is more your thing, Cometic makes thicker head gaskets in just about any thickness, so you can obtain whatever your desired CR would be. The Zetec has a very thick deck so it still has plenty of strength. If you are going for high compression, I will include a Massive prototype oversize / auxiliary timing idler kit so you can obtain proper belt tension with this head.

Only $800!!! The valve train alone would cost one near $600!!!

For an additional $250, I will include a like new set of Crower Stage 2 cams (approx 500 miles) AND correct 16 buckets, along with lashing service so it's ready to go.

Or for $350, I will include the new in box Crower custom ground stage 5 NA cams that came with the motor, 16 buckets and lash service.

Actual cost shipping.

Item is located in Spring Grove, IL.

NO DIBS. First to pay gets it.

Beauty!

What is the "prototype oversize / auxiliary timing idler kit" you mentioned? Do you have a link or pic you can share?

About $140 for a Cometic head gasket to get you within about .007"-.010" of stock CR (given the head is cut about .080" and the stock HG is .027" for a non-SVT Zetec), over $200 for the next thickest gasket which would put you a little under stock. Don't know about squish.

I'm weighing the pile of parts I have here (SuperTech +1 valves and Crower springs/retainers plus a previously Extrude Honed head) and machining bill to follow vs. this and a thicker head gasket. I hate buying parts for this car two or three times but that seems to be normal for me.

My guess is that just by looking at the chambers that the impact on squish would not be good. I have a feeling that this head would be best run by someone looking to keep the increased compression that it offers.

If only I had the money for race gas I could get boost and compression.

The quench pads on either side of the chamber are intact. The chamber has however had all the nasty sharp edges and irregular casting shapes removed. If your into low compression, quench INSIDE the chamber area is not much of a concern anyways. If you ARE NA with a piston crown stocking into the chamber, the smoother shapes here will be a benefit. Either way the sharp edges have been knocked down and the shape is far more resistant to detonation. A win win NA or boost.

I'd run an .080" HG with stock pistons to obtain a roughly stock CR. But if you have stock pistons, why?

I can get you that Cometic HG for approx $100. Larger sizes are about the same for those interested. I will look up and post the cam specs Monday im thinking.

Running a .080 gasket would be like shaving .027 off the head... without doing any calculations I'd say that puts you about 9.8, maybe even 9.9 for CR with stock pistons.

What about that "prototype oversize / auxiliary timing idler kit" I asked about?

So what would you run with a PWSC and Supertech 10.6:1 pistons in the block? Cams are a bit taller than stock (though I'm not sure how much). I've got a set of Mitch's (ZX3Tuning) PWSC cams so there's all sorts of crazy going on with mis-aligned cam lobes.

.098" is the thickest listed Cometic head gasket at the $135 price point (at the page they send you to). Next step up is $240 for a .120".

Everything about that head looks great and would make my life so much easier. Just that darn .080" cut that's giving me fits!

62" width, has a 4:86 ring and pinion IIRC. Has 5x5 hubs. Three sets of QC gears. Full floating axles. I have an aluminum Troyer torque arm for it. Lots of trailing arm brackets. All grade 8 fasteners. I can get you some pictures if you are interested. I just got rid of the project it was in and would be happy to work out a trade.

I wasn't planning on selling the calipers with it, but we can negotiate those if you really want them. They are Wilwood Superlite III with differential bore pistons. They are overkill for almost anything you can think of, which might just make them all the more appealing. As you can see, I sealed up the vent to keep moisture out.

It currently has a spool in it and I will get photos of the Tru-Trak tonight. That diff needs fresh bearings but is otherwise good to go.

The center is from Frankland. I think the hubs are Speedway. Let me know what you want more pictures of. It isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world to move around so I didn't pose it like a supermodel without knowing what you wanted to see.

If this would work for you, I am sure we can work something out. I have sign off from finance (aka my wife) to trade this for stuff I can use even if it doesn't bring in any cash.
