okay im gonna hit on the break in thing again all im hearing about break in is "dont run at high way speeds for a long time before 500-1000 miles" okay can someone tell me why, my car has 9,000 on the ticker now and seems to be fine even though i might have done some highway driving early in my cars life, i just wanna know whats up with the highway thing

because most vehicles need a break in. Their tolerances may be a little tight from the factory. You just need to let it run at a varying speed for the first 1000 or so.

Running it at say 3000 or 4000 for a long time may have some wierd by products. It'll be great at some RPM's and crappy in the others.

Varying the speeds will assure a balanced break-in period.

I.E. you don't want to be running like a nut. Ya gotta break it in. (i would put a rather vulgar comment about "Rear entry, but that's nasty)

Good reading on breaking-in.
The most of it is applicable to the gas engines too.
