Question. A friend of mine has a focus and changed his oil to full synthetic Mobil 1 @ 800 miles. He heard that this is bad sfter the fact and asked me to confirm for him. Let me know what you think so I can get back to him. He does not have internet access at home. Thanks

Ya know they say to run conventional oil for 3000 miles and then switch to synthetic. I say by the time 800 miles has hit he's probably good to go on the synthetic. I probably would've given it more time to break in on conventional just for the assurance.

Ask these guys for their opinions. Freakin oil freaks they are I swear. LOL

I've never understood the synthetic Vs. dino oil break in debate. If synthetic is a superior lubricant thean it should be acceptable for break in. I've personally broken in 3 motors from mile 0 with full synthetic. My procedure is to change the oil after 500 miles, then again at 3500 miles. After that, go on your regular oil change schedule.
