[Shiva Chaos]

Back in early March we had a plant wide "meet the new product" meeting,
with a C5, C6, and XLR all sitting next to each other. What we saw then
was what you see in the magazine, unmasked of course. Beta builds. Dave
Hill, Corvette Chief Engineer, was there and everyone walked around it,
etc. Overall, I wasn't real dazzled, but pleased on the same token.
The Cadillac is much more drastic and aggressive as far as styling goes.

The new Northstar is only about 320 HP, not shabby, but no Corvette
either. The C6 is really a warmed over C5, in my opinion. The overall
shape is the same, but next to each other they are noticeably different.
The C6 struck me as almost Asian looking, and when I heard someone else
in the crowd saying the same thing, I didn't feel as bad about thinking
it. The artists rendition in the magazine is pretty bad, and is remotely
accurate if that. As far as dirt goes, I'm afraid that I cant really
divulge any. Although, a little bird may have flown up on your shoulder
and told you that the base would be 450 HP, with the Z06 following the
next year at 500 HP. I can't imagine where you would have heard this
though. ****? **** who? This is of course merely speculation.
Ever since the presentation, the Beta we have has been covered, put up
on a hoist, and locked in a room only 5 people have access to. It's
going to be dismantled and reassembled on the line I think.

Base Vette will get a 6.0L mill, pumping ~400HP. Z06 will get 6.4L, with ~500HP

6.0L might not be ready, so LS6 might go into base Vette for a year or so.

if the LS6 comes in the base vette with 450hp, and the zo6 has 500, and the styling is NSXish (i personally think it is now), i'd hit it.

i absolutely love the c5, i love the LS1, the LS6 moreso, and if they make it better... let them.

I don't think personally the Z06 will get 500HP i don't see it really, If i wrong oh well
