calling all swabber\'s

Do you think it helped or not?

I swabbed my car not too long after I first got it, it was hard to tell if it hurt or helped. I have been driving it for almost a year and I'm very used to the power delivery of my car. I de-swabbed it and I definetely feel better pull on the low end and at part throttle. Don't have to push the gas as hard to get moving in the low rpm's. I'm keeping it stock.

So, the Escorts split ports act the same as the Foci's after all. Closed is more low end, open is more high end?

I've found the same results as you. I enjoyed the swab except for the bog. I deswabbed and am re-enjoying having a bit more low end nuts.

Still wonder if rigging it up to open on command would be best, though...

I did the swab for a week. Like everyone else stated it felt kinda bogged down low but then had a nice pull to it. So I de-swabbed. I think timing them to open early would be much better than having them fully open.

Yep, I feel the same way. It may be time to go back to stock and be done with it. Trouble is, I lost the actuator tabs that run from the actuator shaft to the linkage. Dammit!

I adjusted the stop screw. kinda half-ass get the best of both worlds thing. I think it helps. good low end and it comes up faster in the mids.
