I've been looking at cams lately and I would like some info and opinions from the gurus...I'm leaning more towards stage 2 cams but I'm not sure which ones...
Do I need to change any other parts when I get stage 2's (springs, rods....) ?
Are stage 2's ok on stock internals ?
And yes I will be getting cam gears...
And how many hp at the wheels are we looking at here from stage 2's 10-15?
Oh and does the idle stay the same with stage 2's ?
Sorry for the bunch of questions...

I did but I still have a couple of questions...
Here are my mods :
Steeda intake
FS 4-1
MBRP CatBack

I think I'll get FR II's...
I don'T drive my car on the track...will the FR II's be ok for me...on stock springs and everything?...how's the idle with those?

If there is anything else you guys recomend please tell me...

The FR 2's will work just fine on your car. I have had them on mine for about 3 years. No problems at all, I didn't even try tuning them (just set them at zero) since I liked the way the car ran without tuning.

I run KC Focus 12 from Burton Power 292 - 292 duration and .395'' -if I can recall correctly. Good bhp production but still need to raise rev limiter. Burton makes them at Kent and are said to work 2000 -6500 rpm... I have a really good kick in *like sort of Vtec :p at 4000 rpm ...Using oem pistons but for the fear of Jude, pistons are hollowed to avoid acquaintance with valves:p Valve springs are from Kent also...I cant remember part number. But I thing that stock can do the job if you are not changing from 5th to 3rd - I have an oversized 1.8 l

on stock internals, no springs or anything right?
And was the idle a bit rough?
right, you only need to check valve lash clearance , fr2's are not that agressive . they are good cams though, i like mine alot. your car will run a little smoother if you raise your idle a little bit with a sct tune by focus sport or whomever you choose. i also had my fuel pressure boosted & my fuel maps upped a bit along with more timming.
enjoy,... cams rock!! now i just need a dyno tune!

Acquaintance..its a joke. I mean to prevent valves from beating pistons ...

how many wheel hp will I be gaining with FR2's, with the mods I have...with no cam gears...no tuning nothing...just cams?

155 from a stock 125 is with FR 2nd plus FR header and crank pulley and manifold and tb. So pulley is -4-5hp. Manifold and Tb give 10hp on an almost stock car. I would expect about 15 hp as this is not the proper way to calculate bhp expectations...flywheel of course ... I dislike whp :p

oh and one more question...is it ok to use these cams without cam gears...will it still give me a little power gain?

only if you plan to get on the rollers...otherwise if you have a good mechanist gears are not needed!

hp street/track mt (lift .374" / .374", 232 / 232 duration, 119 centerline)
modified motor (lift .390" / .390", 240 / 240 duration, 110 centerline)

Can someone tell me which out of these two would be better?
and what the difference actually is
