Is there a website or anything else that tracks cars with the highest mileage for it's model/make? I was curious because my dad's 94 escort has just passed 260k miles, and my 92 escort GT has about 170k. I know mine is still fairly low, but my dad's car is really getting up there. Damn escorts can run forever, forget about Honda's

My 86 Escort GT had 140K on it before I sold it in 1993. Fastforward to 1998 and I ran into the car again at an autoparts store that I used to work part time at and it had over 200K on it.

My dad's 92 Escort had 126K on it and the only thing that screwed up on it minus wear and tear items was the IAT on it. He sold it to some guy from his work and his son flipped it a couple weeks later. He also had a 79 Festia (yes the one made in Europe) that had an ungodly amount of Mileage on it before he got my 86 GT to replace it.

My family has had good luck with Ford's minus our 89 Taraus station wagon that makes a 2000 Focus look good with its 13 recalls it had and all the **** that broke on it (2 trannies and the HVAC automatic controls crapped out...a $700+ item)

My dad has a 1993 Dodge Dakota LE pickup with about 250,000 and it's still going. the truck is not in terrible shape - bed is all scratched up, cracked windshield, very loose frontend, auto trans slips once in a while, dented front bumper, and some other minor cosmetic scuffs - but not a single hint of body rust!. He has the 3.8L Magnum V6 and it's still runnin strong. God bless Mopar

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Say that to my 81 accord that I traded in for $2500 in 97. It had 348,000 on it. Was on it's second transmission (replaced at 225K), and otherwise all other mechanical stuff lasted the life of the car -- replaceables like brake pads/rotors, spark plugs, tires, etc excluded. I never even cracked the valve cover off the engine. I have a 95 escort with 110K on it, on it's second motor, second clutch. I still love the escort but I miss the accord sometimes. I traded it in after a semi ran me off the road but she still purred like a kitten, just had some highway rail damage to one side of the car.
