Happy New year!...well almost

On the 1st of the year, driving back from my grandpas house a women in the second lane (i was in the first) slammed onto her brakes, fish tailed right then fishtailed left and then darted right into my lane lane horizontally and the car stopped right in front of me in the first lane...

Well, that is the summarized version. I love my car so much and it hurts to see it this way, but me, my wife and my friend escaped relatively unscathed. I am hoping the car isn't a total loss, but there appears to be a lot more damage than I initially viewed (The car door frame is all bent and the door can barely close and open, the whole top of the engine bay is messed, and my poor FS Intake is so squished it looks like a steel wool pad sandwiched between two pieces of sheet metal)

I am just happy we are all alive, that is most important to me.

Yet another testament to how safe these cars are.

Sorry about the wreck but It really is great that none of you were hurt in the incident. That alone is something to be thankful for.

Again sorry about the car though :(

Yikes! That sucks! :(

If it's totalled (I hope not so that you may continue to enjoy your SVT), may I please place myself on the request list for the rear bumper?... (okay, I'm going to hell for that)

Srsly, though... I do hope that it can be put as new again so that you may not have to part with it. I <3 the Focus.

navlys32- I am guessing we hit around 35mph, but I really don't know, it happened so fast. Surprisingly not really that sore, my middle back is a bit tender though.

Z63R---Uh oh, here come the vultures!

I am going to be taking out my RS center console and other aftermarket parts if they do decide to total the car, I do plan on getting another FoFo though, I just love the cars.

Uh oh, here come the vultures!
Vultures bearing disclaimers... and my interest is only hopeful and not certain due to recent unemployment.

that sucks man, there have been a ton of accidents this month. :( It doesn't look like it will be totalled....its saving grace is that it is an SVT, other wise the value would be lower, and it may be totalled with the airbags being blown. Glad you're ok!

Focituner2: If the insurance company doesn't total it, I will rebuild

hotrodkris: that is a great idea, I wonder how I can work that one :)

So just got off the phone with the body shop...here is how the conversation went.

me..."So, how does it look so far?"

guy with a twang.."It's a lot of work"

me "does it look like it will be totalled?"

guy with twang.."I don't know, but it's a lot of work, I will call you tomorrow"

So tomorrow I will know for sure

did you at least total the impala?
Even worse! It was a rental!

Those that are calling dibs on anything, I will not be parting it out...ESPECIALLY to those who call dibs before I even hear back about the car.

Re: Happy New year!...well almost

So, I talked to the auto shop today, they sent me an estimate for repairs...

It's not looking good for my car...the repairs are over 13 grand to repair.

That is pretty much the nail in the coffin for my car, but I have no heard from my
insurance company on what they are going to be doing. I was able to get my amp, sub, front and rear stress bars and of course, the precious RS center console. I will keep you guys updated as I learn more about the fate of my car.

Thanks for all the kind words, my car was my baby and I have loved it from the day I picked it up, really sad to see it go.
