Re: CCC\'s Raven...

you don't have very good photography skills man. the road takes your eyes directly off the page
Re: CCC\'s Raven...

All in the eyes of the beholder...the idea was to show the car ready for the open road...that kinda was the point. Pics of cars centered all the time are bland and boring!!! So I'm assuming yours are better...since you sem to know so much...???

LMAO. To say that he doesn't have good photography skills is over the top. Being a photographer myself I can tell you that the picture would have been better if the car would have been in the foreground rather than the background, but the road does not hurt it. Diagonal lines (even if they aren't straight) that travel through a picture are usually visually appealing to a picture. It's too bad that the picture isn't a little better quality. It's kinda grainy...

Keep up the good work though!

Re: CCC\'s Raven...

I actually have one like what your talking about, where about 1/3 of the right frame is the car, but requires you to get closer to the car at a steeper angle, taking away from the view of the car. I only have a 28-105 for the wide stuff and a 70-200 f/4L for the telephoto stuff. But then my 10D multiplies every focal length by 1.6
So sometimes I wish I had a 1:1 ratio still and others i'm happy with the multiplier. I don't have any $$$ for a new lens. I want the new 17-40 that Canon came out with...even then it would be like a 25-65mm after the 1.6x multiplier...thanks for the info Mr. Real Photographer Man. Maybe i should send you some of my REAL photos...

Re: CCC\'s Raven...

That was taken with a 10D? What happened to the quality of it?!
Did you do a little PSing which caused a loss of some data? Just strange is all. 28-105 should be sufficient. My Minolta DiMAGE 7i may as well be crap compared to the 10D, and it has a 28-200mm 35mm equiv. lens. I can't change that, either, unfortunately. My focal length is multiplied by ~3.8, making for a pretty small lens (7.2-50.8mm) Anyway, keep up the work, make good use of that camera! Lemme see some other pictures sometime!

Re: CCC\'s Raven...

It was indeed taken with a 10D...but it was alittle over exposed...I was shooting fast an left it on aperature priority wide open and it was a bright day so depending on the light it was trying to get a faster shutter speed than 1/4000th and I also had it shooting as at 1600iso on accident so it does lose some quality as it would with film. I'm still learning how to use it most effieciently and sometimes for get all the things I can change on it to produce a clear and quality pic. There was no PSing on that one thats the original straight for the camera but resized for the web.

Re: CCC\'s Raven...

Ahhh, 1600 ISO explains it then. Your lowest ISO, as you know, would've helped here, since it was so bright already. I think that on that camera you can customize your own modes to set the camera to so that you're ready with the press of a few buttons, to get the pictures you regularly take. Anyway, good luck with learning your camera. It took me awhile to learn my DiMAGE (by far not the best user design, but it works well at least). If you're getting big into the artsy photography sort of thing, I'd encourage you to check out www.digitalphotocritique.com It's relatively inexpensive to join, and I've learned a lot from the people on the site commenting on my pictures. You can also learn a lot from looking at other's pictures. Hope to maybe see you around.

Re: CCC\'s Raven...

Thanks Tim for the info...I had it on 1600 from when I was fooling around with everything. I sent you some pics...but I guess I have to resize them cause they got returned...how big can you acct handle? Thanks again.

Re: CCC\'s Raven...

Thanks for trying to e-mail and trying to PM me. My hotmail acc't has been inactive for some time, lol. I should do something about that. If you could send them to [email protected] (You prolly don't have to resize to go to this acc't) that'd be great.
I'll see if I can dig up some stuff later to show you if you want to see it.

Re: CCC\'s Raven...

Now that's a cool pic.
Thanks to LilDavid2002's girlfriend!!! She did a great job...that 180* was sick it was about 40yrd after a 40-45mph slalom...and that turnaround was sooooo tight...I made the mistake on my nest run of entering the corner too hot and on the inside...so I dove deep and slowed way down...and missed first place by .9sec, I know for sure that thats where I lost...
