What are your celeb traffic sightings?

Tonight I was following a black suburban with DC plates "G 8". The clintons are in town.

I was driving on the freeway here in Utah when I saw a bunch of SUV's and Highway Patrol cars/motorcycles fly by me.

It was President Clinton's motorcade on his way to Park City for a vacation.

The last SUV had the back window open and a guy sitting in a chair was facing outward with a machine gun in his hands.

They had to have been going 100+ MPH because I was going 70 and they flew by me like I was parked.

That was the closest I've ever been to a US president, about one car length away. I got closer to Margaret Thatcher though, but that's another story...

My celeb traffic sighting was last year near Detroit, near Southgate, MI, I was at a light, looked to my right, saw a sweet Mercedes with what appeared to be 20's on it, I looked in the window, and I see Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez from the Detroit Tigers. He was apparently trying to stay incognito, hat pulled down low, sunglasses, and he was kinda hunkered down low in the seat. I honked, motioned for him to roll his window down, and to my surprise, he did, I told him I was a big fan, and it's great to see a great player like him playing for my home team. He said thanks, and we went on our way.

Other than that, I never considered these guys 'celebs' but I'd see University of Michigan athletes and coaches all the time when I was in downtown Ann Arbor. I guess I just never considered them celebs cuz the athletes, some of them were guys I had hung out with before and knew them as just normal guys even though they were big names around town to most everyone else.

that reminds me of another one that I had. I was going through a drive through (McDonalds IIRC) and in front of me was a ferrari 512. when they got to the window this supersized black arm came out of the car. it was Mutombo from when he was playing for Denver.

I work at a domino's pizza near an indian casino. Mike Bibby from the Sacramento Kings came in and ordered some kickers and asked for directions to the casino. No big deal though. I'm originally from L.A.'s San Fernando Valley and if you keep your eyes open down there... lets just say, if notorious people were snakes, they'd bite you. For inctance, a couple of weeks ago my dad almost got in a fist fight with Joey Buttafuco over who got to decide what was on t.v. in a sushi bar. If you guys are ever in the valley, go by the Van Nuys courthouse and hang out in the back, away from the cameras. You're bound to see someone who has court and wants to have a smoke in private.

About a week or so ago I was working at my part time job, Outback, when a large group walked in the door late at night. I paid no mind really, but at one point as I walked past the table I heard a familiar voice. I turned around and it was Jesse James and a bunch of guy's I'd seen on Monster Garage. Lots of celebs come here to vacation and own homes here and whatnot, but rarely do you actually see them, they seem to stay pretty secluded.

I have lived in and around west chester for the last 10 years, I think I have seen all of the east coast Jackass guys (Bam. Ryan Dunn, Raab, and Rake Yohn) like weekly. I also saw one of the Boyz to Men guys in Conshohocken PA. If a buddy of mine who likes Boyz to Men was not with me, I would have never known it.

I've met Drew Brees a couple of times working at an electronics retailer here in Lafayette.

I didn't really care a whole lot though.

Prince Markie Dee lives around my way and I always see him at the local Applebee's, But my recent encounter was with Fonsworth Bentley who was at one of my Best Buy stores in NYC(86th and Lex.) He was on his sidekick also, he came in looking for a cd, I was going to bother him for an autograph, but All I said was "Welcome to Best Buy Mr. Bentley", he just smile and said "Thank You".

I was shaking hands with John Kerry when he came to La Crosse because I'm a translator for the asian communities that he was strongly targeting. I also shook hands with Bush for the same reason but I washed my hands after that.

I've sat down and had a good half hour chat with LJ Garcia and RJ Devera.

I've met a numerous wrestling stars like The Rock, Y2J, Triple H, Stone Cold, and Goldberg.

I once met a guy who looked exactly like Steve Tyler from Aerosmith..don't know if that counts though.

But out of all the biggest celebs, the biggest one I met was Ronald McDonald. My brother is a supervisor at a McDonalds and I met Rondald when he came to town. Did you guys know that in the whole world, there is only 60 Ronald McDonalds? And they travel all over the world from LA to Poland to Bangkok to Syndey.

hmmm...

Bush Sr. back in 1991-1992.

Hit Kid ROck in the head with a beer can in 1999. THat same night, met and talked to the Bassist from the Nixons, nearly got into a barfight with Dave whatshisface from Monster Magnet, and a few others.

Michael Jackson on the flight home from India in 1998. THe hug he gave me lasted uncomfortably long.

Slipknot's drummer on the flight TO India in 2000.

A few weeks ago, I saw an Escalade on (at least) 24's while driving on I-95 near Miami and I'm pretty sure it was Trick Daddy. The Escalade was red and "305" real big across the back window.

I've met Richard Kiel on several occasions (Jaws of James Bond fame), and shared a Teppan Yaki table with he and his wife one time. His wife reminds me of the secretary in Ferris Bueler's Day Off (they think he's a righteous dude).

Also, my buddy Mike played for the Jets back in the late 80's, and I got to work out with him at their camp. Played basketball with a bunch of the guys, and blocked a shot by Mickey Schuler, one of my football idols. That was just a huge rush.

One other that I can think of...only a celebrity to those of us artist types...I knew Duncan Spencer when I was young, he's the artist that painted the backdrops in the Wizard of Oz. Think Emerald City behind a field of poppys, yeah that guy.
